Speaking to FRANCE 24’s Sharon Gaffney, Thomas Graham, a senior fellow at the Council on Foreign Relations, says the relationship between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin is based on “a unique, sometimes uncanny, affinity that President Trump seems to have for strongmen, President Putin in particular,” adding that Trump has “found it very difficult to translate it into tough policy that actually advances American interests.”
