Meghan Markle’The possible return to the United Kingdom remains uncertain because Prince Harry is preparing for an Invictus Games-related visit this summer.
Royal commentators shared, however, that the Duchess of Sussex would only travel if she was guaranteed automatic armed security, rather than case-by-case protection under current rules.
While a review of Prince Harry’s security is reportedly underway, experts say Meghan Markle could still face a cold reception from the royal family upon her return.

Meghan Markle’s UK visit uncertain as security remains top concern

Royal commentators suggest there is only one scenario in which Meghan would consider returning to the UK.
As Harry prepares for a possible visit to Birmingham this summer ahead of the one-year countdown to the Invictus Games, reports say he would prefer to have his wife by his side. However, whether the Duchess of Sussex will make the trip remains unclear.
According to Popular magazineno final plans have been confirmed and a representative for Archewell dismissed recent speculation about Meghan, saying Fox News Digital that the claims circulating in the media are “entirely speculative”.
Royal analyst and YouTube host Kinsey Schofield, however, believes that Meghan’s presence in the UK is entirely dependent on security guarantees.

She argued that Meghan would only return if she had 24-hour armed protection, rather than security approved on a case-by-case basis.
Harry has repeatedly said he is unwilling to take his wife and children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, into what he perceives as a dangerous environment without sufficient protection.
“If Meghan were to travel to the UK under the current RAVEC protocol – which requires 30 days’ notice to assess threat levels – I am confident that Harry and Meghan would have armed security for an appearance at Invictus,” Schofield said.

Review underway for security of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in UK ahead of Invictus Games
Under current arrangements set by the Executive Committee for the Protection of Royalty and Public Figures (RAVEC), security decisions are made after advance notice and threat assessment.
Schofield said that if Meghan attended an Invictus-related event under these rules, armed protection would almost certainly be provided.
However, she suggested that new media discussion of Meghan’s automatic security request may be aimed at putting pressure on officials to reconsider their initial decision.
While Harry usually enjoys police protection during his visits to the UK, Schofield noted that the couple’s frustration stems from the lack of permanent, guaranteed security.
This, she added, was an outcome clearly announced when the Sussexes stepped back from royal duties in 2020.

This policy could soon change, however. The reports of Mail Sunday And People suggest that discussions within the Home Office are ongoing and that “security is now assured for Harry”. A formal review is reportedly underway.

King Charles could be looking to reunite his family as expert claims Duke asked his father to ‘open the Invictus Games’
Royal commentator Ian Pelham Turner said Fox News Digital that these developments could signal a broader effort by King Charles to “unite the family while he has the power and strength to do so.”
Turner noted that “Meghan will want to have lots of assurances, particularly about how she is treated and how she can bring her own individuality with her.”
He said: “Security is one of the most important issues. I see encouraging signs that the heated moments of the past have calmed down. »
Pelham continued: “I also believe that Harry asked King Charles to open the Invictus Games.”
Meghan could face a cold reception from the royal family if she returns to the UK
Despite the possibility of a warm welcome from King Charles, many royal observers believe Meghan would face resistance from other members of the royal family.
Schofield suggested that working royals may deliberately avoid interaction with the Sussexes and that Meghan, in particular, is unlikely to feel welcome.
“I don’t think we would see working royals acknowledging their presence,” she said. “The Sussexes’ credibility has been undermined in recent years and the royal family wants to keep its distance.”
“She felt rejected by Harry’s family and country and wants to focus on her American aspirations,” Schofield added.
