President Donald Trump on Wednesday withdrew his threat to impose tariffs on eight European countries over their opposition to his ambitions for U.S. ownership of Greenland, saying he had reached the outline of an agreement with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte on the future of the autonomous Danish territory. He gave no details on what he described as “the framework of a future agreement.”
