The World Economic Forum 2026 was eventful. However, the POTUS has been the focus of many reports. Donald Trump spoke on many subjects, including Iceland, being called “Dad,” and now informing the room that “sometimes you need a dictator,” when referring to himself.

Trump was referring to his previous speech in Davos at the World Economic Forum. He noted that his speech received good reviews. He spoke about NATO, Canada, Icelandand Europe. According to the president, the crowd appreciated what he had to say.

“We had a good speech, we had great reviews. I can’t believe it, we got great reviews of this speech,” he explained. He is aware that he may sometimes receive an unfavorable response to what he has to say. However, this time he would have succeeded.

But what he said next left a few people perplexed. Rather than leave it at that, Trump decided to call himself a dictator.

“Usually they say, ‘He’s a horrible type of dictator,’ I’m a dictator. But sometimes you need a dictator! But they didn’t say that in this case… It’s all based on common sense, it’s not conservative or liberal or anything.”

Trump has shown a clear level of self-awareness regarding his public image in the political world, referencing how some politicians and officials view his various international policies and approaches. However, he did little to dispel them, instead doubling down.

Rather than refute claims that he was the dictator some call him, he confirmed their suspicions. It turns out Trump thinks the world needs a dictator sometimes. He added that he was ready to take over.

However, this claim was not particularly well received online. The clip went viral on various social media platforms and the response was as expected. Some have pointed to rumors that Trump has dementia, saying his self-proclaimed dictatorship is a sign of a weakening of the mind.

Others note that perhaps this is how he sees himself. They fear that this kind of mentality could justify unfavorable political actions by the President of the United States. The country is still a democracy for now, and Trump is aware of that.

For now, this is just another statement made by Asset at the World Economic Forum, this will have to be explained upon his return to American soil.
