As spring approaches, it’s time to start thinking about how you’re going to file your taxes. If you don’t qualify for the free file, you’ll probably have to shell out money for Intuit software. And while we hate to suggest you give money to a company that has spent decades lobbying To ensure the US tax system remains a nightmare, we can at least save you some money if TurboTax is your only option.

Currently, Amazon has reduced the TurboTax Deluxe Desktop Edition by 44 percent. This gets you $35 off software that normally costs $80, which you can use to file both your state and federal taxes. For most Americans, this should cover their needs.

However, if you are self-employed, you will have to pay for the more expensive one. Professional version of TurboTaxwhich is currently 42% off, or $54 off. One last thing to note: you’ll need a PC with Windows 11 or macOS Sonoma to run the software, so an older machine unfortunately won’t do the trick.

An alternative also for sale is that of H&R Block. Amazon has H&R Block Deluxe + State Tax Software for 50 percent off, bringing it down to just $30. It works on Windows and Mac devices and allows you to import the previous year’s personal tax return, even from competing software like TurboTax and Quicken.
