Onnit Instant Melatonin Spray is the easiest part of my nighttime routine

I have always approached take melatonin supplements with skepticism. They seem to help from time to time, but your brain already produces melatonin. Beyond that, I’m not a fan of sugary tablets, gummies, and other forms of melatonin that I’ve encountered. No one wants to have a bad taste in their mouth when they’re supposed to be falling asleep.

That’s where Onnit’s Instant Melatonin Spray comes in. Another reviewer from WIRED Molly Higgins I tried first and responded favorably. This spray comes in two flavors, lavender and mint, and is sweetened with stevia. While I don’t consider it gourmet tasting, I appreciate that it relies more on herbal components known for sleep and relaxation.

Keep in mind that melatonin is meant to be a sleep aid, not a panacea. That being said, one serving of this spray contains 3 milligrams of melatonin, which requires about six pumps to distribute. While 3 milligrams might not seem like a lot to really jump-start your circadian rhythm, it’s actually the perfect dose to kickstart your brain’s relaxation process. Some people can do more (but don’t exceed 10 milligrams!), others less, but depending on what experts relayed to methis is the preferable amount.

A few reminders for any supplement: Consult your doctor if and when you want to incorporate anything, including melatonin, into your nighttime regimen. Your healthcare professional can help you confirm that you are not taking any medications that require the addition of a sleep aid or a supplement would not seem as effective. Onnit Instant Melatonin Spray is internationally certified for the assessment and notification of genetically modified organisms (AGAIN) to verify that it uses truly non-GMO ingredients.

Aside from that, there may be some trial and error on the ideal amount for you and how long it takes to work. Some may feel melatonin sooner than others. For my colleague Molly, it took about an hour. Melatonin can’t do all the heavy lifting, so make sure you’re ready for bed when you take it and that your sleep space is set up for successful sleep, until your mattress, leavesAnd pillows.
