Toyota is recalling more than 161,000 pickup trucks in the United States due to a software defect that may prevent the rearview camera image from displaying when the vehicle is reversed, federal safety regulators said.
The recall affects certain 2024 and 2025 models Toyota Tundra and Tundra Hybrid models equipped with the automaker’s Surround View Monitor (PVM) system, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) said in an advisory released Friday.
“A rearview camera image that does not display reduces the driver’s vision behind the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash,” NHTSA noted.
