The Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase is only a few hours away and I’m expecting a deluge of new game announcements from some pretty big third-party developers.

This means that you are unlikely to see a new Super Mario announced game, for example, although there is always a possibility that some spin-offs by external teams (think Cadence of Hyrule) might appear.
I’ll be there to guide you through the live event with a constant stream of predictions, news and rumors as the series gets underway, then a flurry of updates as the announcements drop.

I’m TechRadar’s games editor, and it’s my job to stay on top of everything related to the Nintendo Switch 2. I’ve followed the console since it was just a whispered rumor, covering the numerous leaks before its reveal. Before its release, I attended official Nintendo events to test the console and have since spent countless hours playing a wide range of games.

The Switch 2 version of Fallout 4 may have just leaked
Our friends at GamesRadar are currently reporting that the Switch 2 release date for Fallout 4: Anniversary Edition was disclosed.
The port, announced earlier this year, will apparently launch on April 28, 2026. The proximity of this news to the upcoming Nintendo Direct is important, as it suggests it will be one of today’s announcements.
Unfortunately, there doesn’t appear to be a proper physical version, or even a Game-Key card version, on store shelves, as publisher Bethesda has apparently opted for a code-in-box format for this one.
Latest Nintendo Direct rumor roundup
There aren’t many rumors about what might be in the next Direct, although frequent speculator and YouTube creator “NatetheHate” has some ideas.
He suggests that Black Myth: Wukong, Metaphor: Refantazio, Monster Hunter Wilds, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, Fallout 4, And Ancient Ring (which was recently delayed for Switch 2) will all be featured later.
Many Internet users are also hoping for the announcement of a Chiaroscuro: Expedition 33 port, although there appears to be no concrete evidence to suggest this is more likely than anything else.
Duskbloods are a must-have
Nintendo Swich 2 Exclusive Bloods of Twilight is also a game I’m waiting to appear.
We haven’t heard much about this FromSoftware-developed multiplayer game, but it’s worth remembering that it’s still scheduled to release this year, so marketing should ramp up soon.
It was also a major title during the Nintendo Switch 2’s first direct reveal, so it makes sense that Nintendo would want to keep the focus on it with a shiny new trailer – especially now in its release year.
If that wasn’t enough, I’m also waiting for Village and 7
If Requiem is shown, so I’d bet on at least a brief glimpse of Resident Evil Village And Resident Evil 7: Biohazard Also.
Both games were announced at the same time Requiem as part of an all-in-one mega pack, so it makes sense to show them together – especially if it’s the big ports we’re planning.
On this subject…
Speaking of Resident Evil RequiemPerformance, My colleague Josie recently tested the game at a Nintendo event and was very impressed with the quality of the port.
“Overall, I didn’t notice any frame drops or performance issues in the demo; an impressive feat that speaks to the Switch 2’s capabilities, provided the games were well optimized,” she wrote.
“So the majority of credit goes to Capcom for their ability to achieve this optimization, as well as their impressive RE engine.”
Hopefully Isaiah is right and Capcom will be keen to show off what they’ve achieved here with a new trailer or demo later today.
We are waiting for a lot of news from Resi
I just had a brief conversation with our resident resident Evil boss and editor Isaiah what he thinks will be reserved for fans of survival horror.
“My second most anticipated game of 2026, Resident Evil Requiemis fast approaching, with its launch scheduled for February 27, and believe me, my hype level has gone through the roof,” he said.
“From everything I’ve seen so far, Requiem has strong potential to become the best game in the Resident Evil franchise, and I expect this Nintendo Direct to shed light on the game’s mysteries.
I suspect this might be our first real opportunity for a public demo alongside the release of a new trailer revealing another major character or location. The game’s launch is only a few weeks away, and typically, Capcom releases its Resident Evil demos at least two weeks before each game arrives – and although PlayStation’s State of Play is rumored to be released next week, Capcom has only marketed Requiem through its own storefronts, or those of Nvidia and Nintendo so far.
This would also be the perfect opportunity to show off the game’s performance on Switch 2! »
Hello everyone!
