Andy Cohen Reacts to ‘Real Housewives Of New York’ Spinoff

During a recent episode of his radio show “Radio Andy,” the executive producer commented on the news that some of the franchise’s heavy hitters, including Ramona Singer And Sonja Morgan-jump to the E! Network for a new series centered on their lives.

The news that some of Bravo’s star cast members are starring in a new production on a different network comes years after Andy Cohen revealed that Bravo was relaunching “Real Housewives of New York” with an all-new cast after 13 years.

According to a press release from E!, Singer, Morgan, Jill Zarin, Kelly Bensimon and Luann de Lesseps are reuniting for a new series tentatively titled “The Golden Life.”

“Linked by decades of shared history, fallout, and friendship, this fan-favorite group of New Yorkers start anew together in the Sunshine State,” the series synopsis teases. “In this new ‘golden’ era of life, the longtime friends flourish in and around Palm Beach with fabulous second homes and a vibrant social scene. With their signature humor and non-stop twists, the series will follow the group as they navigate the milestones of dating, family and careers.”

However, the journey won’t be entirely smooth sailing, as the synopsis also hints that “unresolved drama” could resurface after years away from the spotlight.

So what did Cohen say about the news? “You know what? I’m so excited for them,” he said.

Cohen revealed that he contacted the ladies after learning of the decision, adding that he thought it would be “a great show” and that he could “never go after them” because he loved seeing them together.

Cohen also explained how the series came to be, stating that many of the women “all live in Florida” except for Lesseps and Bensimon. He then reminded his listeners that they could watch the ladies reunite on a recent season of “Real Housewives: Ultimate Girls Trip” on Peacock.

Andy Cohen says the ‘ultimate girls’ trip’ to New York felt like the series finale

The “RHONY” legacy version of “Ultimate Girls Trip” originally aired on Bravo in 2023 and starred the aforementioned actors, as well as Dorinda Medley and Kristen Taekman. It premiered two years after season 13 (the last time the ladies were part of the channel’s flagship show).

Speaking about the legacy trip to St. Barts, Cohen described it as “a series finale in a weird way.”

“They kind of wrapped it all up, but now they’re embarking on their new life, and yeah. So, I wish them well, and I’m happy for the fans that wanted to see that,” Cohen said.

“We’re thrilled to welcome reality TV royalty to E! for a reunion fans have been waiting for,” Val Boreland, VERSANT president of entertainment, said in a statement. “The energy within this group has always been electric and we are excited to see it unfold into a new chapter of beachside living.”

Cohen Announces ‘RHONY’ Reboot After 13 Years

The OG women of “RHONY” are reuniting after Bravo’s reboot and complete overhaul of the series in 2022. Cohen announced the bold decision to rebuild in a previous interview, according to the Daily Dish, explaining that producers felt “at a crossroads for [the show]”.

Cohen also revealed that revamping the series would allow the network to tell different stories from a more diverse group of women.

“There are thousands of stories to tell here. This is the most multicultural, diverse, energetic and exciting city in America: we’re looking for a group of multicultural friends who truly best reflect the most exciting city in the country. We’re looking for a group of women who are true friends and who are of diverse backgrounds, races and religions,” he said.

Season 14 of the series aired in July 2023 and featured Sai De Silva, Ubah Hassan, Erin Lichy, Jenna Lyons, Jessel Taank and Brynn Whitfield.

Beyond the antics of Big Apple alumni, fans will see several iconic faces later in 2026 when Bravo airs “Roaring 20th,” a special celebrating the franchise’s 20th anniversary.

According to The Blast, the limited series will feature many big names, including Porsha Williams, Kyle Richards, Vicki Gunvalson, Lisa Barlow, Teresa Giudice and NeNe Leakes.
