MacJones doesn’t exactly buy into the 49ers viral practice facility conspiracy… but he doesn’t completely dismiss it either!
San Francisco’s backup QB spoke with TMZ Sports about discussions linking the team’s nearby electrical substation to their injury history… a theory that has gained momentum online and even sparked silent locker room curiosity over the years.
Some have speculated that electromagnetic fields from Levi’s Stadium’s power plant could disrupt players’ bodies, but there is no scientific evidence to support this.
Jones kept things pretty calm when asked about it… saying he personally hasn’t noticed anything strange since joining the team.
“I haven’t been here long enough,” Jones said, “but I think there’s something to study and at least find out if it’s good or bad, but I don’t feel any different.”
He even mocked one of the plot’s more outlandish claims: that players would supposedly hear an electrical buzzing sound near the facility.
“I don’t hear the buzzing,” he said. “Maybe some of the guys who have been there for a minute, but not me.”
For those who drink tea…none of the Super Bowl teams practice at the Niners’ facilities.
Jones also made it clear that he’s not exactly a tin foil hat guy when it comes to conspiracy theories in general.
“Honestly, no,” he replied. “I’ll entertain them, but I don’t believe in weirdos.”
As speculation continues to swirl around the Niners — fueled in part by the team’s recent injuries — Jones appears focused on football, not the power grid.
“I’m happy where I am,” he added. “I love the 49ers and I want to continue to win and have fun.”
It’s safe to say that Mac is focused on reading defenses…not radiation levels.
