Cavallari recently opened up about her experience during her divorce from Cutler a few years ago. She shared that this experience taught her some lessons, even though it was painful, noting that she learned to stop being a control freak.

The media personality said she realized that going through difficult times is necessary because they help one appreciate the good times.

Stressing that there is indeed beauty in pain, she said she tried to silence her feelings. “I didn’t want to feel anything. I wanted to push everything away. I was like, ‘I’m okay, I’m okay, I’m okay. I’m a tough girl,'” she said.

She detailed her experience in a recent episode of her podcast “Let’s Be Honest,” revealing that at the time, she didn’t know how to ask for help or feel vulnerable. Cavallari said she allowed herself to go through the emotional roller coaster and experience the pain, not run from it.

“And thank God I did, because that’s where most of my growth and my life comes from. Pain and suffering and suffering are there to teach us something,” the podcaster added.

The podcaster went on to say that trying to run away from pain is doing yourself a disservice, because beauty is at the end of the road. Last year, she spoke to US Weekly, revealing the growth she experienced after the divorce, finalized in 2022.

She said the years spent away from her ex-husband were instrumental in her growth as a person.

“I think growing up and realizing that what I had been doing before wasn’t working for me and I had to figure out what needed to change for the second half of my life to be truly peaceful,” Cavallari revealed.

The former lovers spent about a decade together when they met in 2010, but married in 2013, a year after the birth of their eldest son, Camden. Ultimately, they decided to call it quits in 2020.

The mother of three revealed a new requirement on her dating list

Cavallari previously spoke candidly about getting back into the dating pool, sharing what she now sees as a red flag in a man.

She noted that a man without children or the desire to have them was a no-go for her, and this was on the list because of her experiences as a mother. “Someone who doesn’t have kids and doesn’t want them, I say, ‘You won’t understand my life,'” the mother of three said.

As shared by The Blast, Cavallari offered insight into her reasoning, pointing out that motherhood broadens a woman’s emotional perspective and that a potential partner without children might struggle to relate, thus causing friction in the relationship.

Cavallari’s list of preferences grows as she engages in head-on encounters. In addition to childless men, the podcaster also has certain professional preferences. She previously stated that she didn’t want men in the acting niche because she saw them as generally insecure.

She described the actors as a “bunch of nerds”, explaining that in her opinion they generally lacked confidence and were therefore not her type. “Actors in general are very insecure, and I think that’s why they become actors, because they’re looking for external validation,” the media personality noted.

The podcast host revealed that another reason she didn’t like actors was because she had no interest in being in a long-distance relationship. Busy schedules and frequent travel were a red zone in his books.

The Blast reported that although acting was a major turning point for her, she still found certain actors, like Brandon Sklenar, physically attractive.

The mother of three made headlines and fueled conflict with her ex-husband when she publicly stated that her divorce from the former NFL player resulted in no monetary settlement.

Discussing the creation of her company Uncommon James, which she launched in 2017, she said: “I never received a cent from my ex-husband, I didn’t receive any money from our divorce, so let’s set the record straight. Thank you.”

Cavallari also denied rumors that her success with her lifestyle brand was funded by Cutler’s NFL earnings, explaining that she did not receive any external funding.

Cutler rained criticism on the “Laguna Beach” alum for her statement, calling it completely false: “It’s crazy. It’s completely false, completely false,” the former NFL star said.

He also pointed out that the business was a marital asset and that Cavallari received a good sum after their divorce, as shared by The Blast.
