As Mexican authorities battle narco gangs terrorizing Puerto Vallarta and other parts of the country, citizens – and their pets – must run for cover.
In a new video shared online, a dog is seen running for its life as thunderous gunshots ring out overhead.

Watch the clip…the footage is shaky, but you can clearly see a canine sprint through the image as police reportedly fight to retake the entrance to Puerto Vallarta from the cartel gunmen.
As we reported …the leader of the famous Jalisco New Generation Cartel, Nemesio “El Mencho” Oseguera Cervanteswas killed by army forces on Sunday, triggering a retaliatory strike by the violent crimes organization.
The US State Department reportedly advised American tourists to shelter in place, and the governor of Jalisco Pablo Lemus Navarro issued a warning on Xdeclaring: “We reiterate the recommendation to avoid leaving your home. Clashes are occurring in several federal entities.”
Panic also spread to Guadalajara International Airport, where mass evacuations also took place after gunfire reportedly broke out there.
According to The New York TimesEl Mencho was considered one of Mexico’s most violent criminals. He would have gained notoriety after the capture of Joaquín “El Chapa” Guzmán.
