Britain will stop issuing study visas to nationals of Afghanistan, Cameroon, Myanmar and Sudan, as well as work visas to Afghans, the government announced on Tuesday, in a bid to limit asylum claims through legal channels. The Home Office said asylum applications from students in these countries increased by more than 470% between 2021 and 2025.
