The new season of “The Bachelorette” is toast, and ABC is turning to one of its other staples to fill the time slot after Taylor Frankie Paul‘s crash out… at least for this Sunday.

Our sources have confirmed that a rerun of “American Idol” will replace “The Bachelorette” on March 22, but that’s just the plan for this week. We’re told network officials have yet to find a permanent replacement for the remainder of the canning season.

TMZ broke the news…Taylor’s ‘Bachelorette’ season was canceled hours after publishing the 2023 video of his fights with her baby daddy, Dakota Mortensen.

She also faces a new allegation of domestic violence following an incident involving Dakota in February, but Taylor claims he was the one who became violent with her.

A spokesperson for Disney Entertainment told us… “In light of the new video that was just released today, we have made the decision not to move forward with the new season of ‘The Bachelorette’ at this time, and our goal is to support the family.”

Ending Taylor’s season means a huge financial hit for the network and, as we first reported, finger-pointing and arguing over who is to blame — and, above all, who will pay — has already begun.

“Idol” normally airs on Monday nights – that’s when new episodes air on ABC – but, for now, fans will get a double showing with the Sunday night rebroadcast.
