  • April 2026 update for Google Pixels is rolling out
  • It includes various bug fixes, especially for game and banking app crashes.
  • There are no new features — for those, you’ll probably have to wait until June

The latest Google Pixel patch is now available, but this April 2026 version is much smaller than the March one. Last month, Google rolled out a Pixel Drop with new features, but this month we’re only getting bug fixes.

However, some patches fix potentially very annoying bugs, including those causing some games, banking apps, and Quick Share to crash when transferring files.

In addition to fixing various crashes, this April 2026 update also fixes an issue where the Backup menu was missing from System Settings under certain conditions, and another issue where the quick search bar is sometimes missing from the Home screen under certain conditions.

It’s worth downloading

So, if you have encountered any of these bugs, you must download this update as soon as possible to resolve them. But even if you haven’t encountered these issues, it’s usually a good idea to grab updates like this, as they might prevent these bugs from occurring in the future and might also fix other unlisted issues.

The update is rolling out starting today, but it’s a phased rollout, so you may not have access to it for about a week. Just keep an eye on your phone to see when it appears.

And if you’re wondering when the next big update for Pixels will arrive, with new features, you should look towards June, because that’s when we expect to see Android 17.
