A planned skydive entry before the game at Virginia Tech turned into a tense scene Saturday when a skydiver got stuck on the scoreboard.

The paratrooper was supposed to enter the stadium with a huge American flag before the Hokies’ spring game under the new head coach. James Franklin …but instead he found himself tangled above the field.

The video shows the parachute hanging at the top of the scoreboard, wedged between the giant “C” and “H”… with the skydiver left hanging for about 20 minutes as fans watched.

At one point, the skydiver dropped the large American flag and a second parachute into the stands below while waiting to be rescued.

First responders eventually intervened and brought the skydiver down safely – Virginia Tech later confirmed the individual was safe and stable, and ultimately uninjured.

The frightening delay pushed back the start of the spring game by more than an hour.

What was supposed to ignite the crowd turned into a breather… but, thankfully, ended without disaster.
