‘Storage Wars’ star Darrell Sheets seen smiling hours before death

Darrell Leaves looked happy and in good spirits just hours before his sudden and shocking death.

TMZ obtained a photo of the “Storage Wars” fan favorite, who was photographed Tuesday around 5 p.m. at his antiques store in Lake Havasu, Arizona…a place he’s been running since his time away from reality TV.

A witness tells us Darrell was upbeat and friendly during the meeting…making the news of his death even more shocking.

Darrell had moved to Lake Havasu after retiring from “Storage Wars,” opening his store, “Havasu Show Me Your Junk,” where locals and fans could still get a glimpse of the larger-than-life personality.

We broke the story… cops went to Sheets’ Arizona home after receiving a call about a dead body. Police in Lake Havasu, Arizona, told TMZ that he died of a self-inflicted gunshot head injury.

As we reported…Darrell has had serious health issues in the past. In March 2019, he was hospitalized after suffering a heart attack and ultimately having to undergo surgery.

The last time TMZ caught up with Darrell on camera was in December 2016, where he spoke with our photographer about contract disputes and his relationship with A&E.

He was 67 years old.
