After being the subject of countless leaks over the years, Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag resynced has finally been revealed, letting us into the nitty-gritty details of the upcoming remake. Although the basic storyline, basic game concepts and even the original voice actors fortunately remained unchanged, Resynchronized Black Flag still features several major changes and editing types that you’ll want to know about well before its release.
Being described as an incredibly faithful remake of one of the Assassin’s Creedthe most popular entries of, Resynchronized Black Flag has been completely rebuilt from the ground up using the latest Ubisoft Anvil engine to deliver a completely next-gen experience. Putting aside all the new features, quality of life changes, and visual improvement, one of the biggest questions you might have is when exactly you’ll be able to get your hands on Resynchronized Black Flag yourself.
Assassin’s Creed Black Flag resynced release date
Luckily, if you’ve ever been hesitant about coming back Assassin’s Creed 4 before the release of the remaster, you will not have to wait very long, since Ubisoft is targeting July 9, 2026 for the release of Resynchronized Black Flag. The only downside to the short wait Black flag Resynchronized is that it does not leave much time to prepare, because the game will be unplayable for millions of players without next-generation hardware.
Taking control of Edward Kenway, Resynchronized Black Flag will follow the same story as the original, with Edward balancing the lives of a pirate and an assassin across the beautiful environments of the Caribbean, ranging from bustling cities, dense jungles, and perilous underwater exploration spread across its open world.
Black Flag Resurrected will have the same size world as the original game, but with additional content added to offer more things to do in its locations and islands.
Released less than three months after the official announcement, confirmation of previously announced release date is one of the best things to come out of the storefront, especially considering the low number of summer releases for the year so far.
Fans are concerned that Ubisoft is deleting the original Black flag after the remake’s July 9 release can also breathe a sigh of relief, as the studio has confirmed that the 2013 version won’t be going anywhere on digital storefronts, but will exist in tandem with Resynchronized Black Flag.

Every change coming to Black Flag resynced
Although it remains faithful to the essence of the original Assassin’s Creed 4 experience, Resynchronized Black Flag reworked several aspects of the game to provide a smoother experience, while also offering plenty of entirely new content for fans to enjoy.
The first major change comes in the form of Resynchronized Black Flag‘s combat system, which introduces new combos, finishers, and environmental interactions to spice up its swashbuckling action. Ubisoft has also stayed away from the RPG mechanics of its most recent Assassin’s Creed entries, meaning you won’t see health bars or squishy enemies, while still enjoying the series’ brutal combat innovations.
The infamous eavesdropping segments have also received a major overhaul, with failure not resulting in your checkpoint being reset, but instead flowing naturally into combat and even allowing you to kill the target. Offering alternative methods to complete the mission if you fail an eavesdropping objective, Resynchronized Black Flag has many features that further distinguish it from its predecessor, including:
- Faster movement and assassinations
- Selectable officers, each with their own questlines and perks
- Animals that can be added to your ship
- Alternative ranged attacks and improvements for naval combat
- New sea shanties recorded by the original artists
- Added quests and cut content from the original Black flag
- Quest lines for NPCs like Blackbeard and Stede Bonnet
Parkour and stealth have also both received significant improvements from the original. Black flag as well as the ability to crouch at will and new stealth takedowns providing more flexibility during infiltration missions. Resynchronized Black FlagThe movement system has also received a major facelift that follows the well-received parkour improvements of recent entries, which include back throws, side throws and plenty of flair as you quickly traverse each environment.
With the number of gameplay improvements and next-gen visuals that the remaster has to offer, it seems that Assassin’s Creed Black Flag resynced will become the ultimate way to experience Edward Kenway’s story, outside of its DLC, especially with new story content that expands on the original experience.
