BYD may be known for its affordability fully electric carsbut that doesn’t mean it won’t occasionally dabble in hypercars under one of its subsidiary brands. At the Beijing Auto Show, BYD revealed the Denza Z, a hypercar that can produce more than 1,000 horsepower with a fully electric motor. According to CarNewsChinathe Denza A can reach 0 to 60 mph in less than two seconds, rivaling the likes of the Rimac Niver.
BYD first showed off the Denza Z concept at the 2025 Shanghai Auto Show. A year later, the Chinese electric vehicle maker confirmed its latest four-seater hypercar that will be available in hardtop, convertible and “track” configurations. BYD has yet to reveal the full specifications of the Denza Z, so we don’t know what makes the Track Edition different. So far, the company has announced that it will use its intelligent suspension system, DiSus-M, similar to that of Chevrolet Corvette. Magnetic Driving Controland its Flash charging system. BYD also said Auto Express that the Denza Z will have some of the features seen with BYD’s YangWang U9, such as autonomous driving and “rotating tank“.
Surprisingly, BYD plans to launch the Denza Z in Europe first, with a premiere at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in the UK in July. The automaker hasn’t yet revealed its pricing, but it’s expected to be more widely available than BYD’s. another hypercar under its subsidiary YangWang, limited to 30 units.
