Fatal shooting at post-prom gathering leaves 1 dead, 3 injured in Indianapolis

One person was killed and three others injured Sunday morning in Indianapolis, Indiana, following a shooting at a post-prom party, police said.

Officers responded to a shooting in the 4000 block of North Park Avenue, near North College Avenue and 38th Street, around 3:30 a.m. When they arrived, police found a victim suffering from a gunshot wound. She was rushed to hospital, where she died from her injuries.

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police then went to Methodist Hospital after receiving a report that two other people had entered with gunshot wounds. Investigators believe those injuries were also related to the shooting at the party.

In total, three people were shot. One victim remains in critical condition and another suffered non-critical injuries. A fourth person was injured while trying to leave the house.

According to 13Newsthe shooting occurred at a short-term rental home where a large number of teenagers had gathered for the post-prom get-together.
