Multiple bodies found inside Texas boxcar, authorities investigating

Multiple bodies were found on a covered train in Laredo, Texas… TMZ has confirmed.

Laredo PD PIO told TMZ… “We received a call around 3:30 p.m. today of possible deceased people in a crate.”

The LPD spokesperson continues to say that upon arriving at the scene, they requested assistance from the firefighters, who confirmed that 6 people had died. We’re told it’s still an active scene and authorities are still working on the investigation.

Officials tell us while no age or gender has been determined, it’s still unclear how long the deceased have been there as they are still awaiting reports – the cause of death will be determined by the medical examiner’s office. The immigration status of the deceased is also unknown at this time.

As for online speculation, LPD PIO tells us that weather could be a factor due to Laredo’s intense heat, but that will be part of the investigation and ME report, so it’s just speculation at this time.

A Union Pacific spokesperson told TMZ… “Union Pacific is saddened by this incident and is working closely with law enforcement to investigate.”
