Nintendo Continues To Change The Zelda Movie Release Date

Nintendo’s next Hollywood adaptation is The Legend of Zelda, and it comes out in 2027. When in 2027? Well, that’s the part the company can’t quite decide on. It’s just that the date has been changed again.

“This is Miyamoto”, Nintendo posted on X Wednesday. “We have decided to change the worldwide theatrical release date of the live-action film ‘The Legend of Zelda’ from May 7, 2027 to April 30, 2027. In order to deliver it to everyone even one day earlier, the team is united to push forward the production. There is less than a year left until the release, but please be patient a little longer.”

There are currently no other major films on the schedule for either of these weeks, so I’m not sure what the motivating factor was for Nintendo to change their schedule. Maybe this brings it closer to releasing an unannounced game? Perhaps it contains inside information about another big release due in May?

Anyway, this is not the first time that the manufacturer of the Switch 2 has played musical chairs with its Legend of Zelda release date of the film. It was originally meant arrive March 27, 2027which certainly had beautiful symmetry. “It will be a few weeks later than the release schedule we originally announced, and we will take the extra time to make the film as good as it can be,” Miyamoto said. said at the time. “Thanks for your patience.”

I guess live action Zelda the film just needed four more weeks of production, not five. But what fans really need is an actual trailer. We still know almost nothing about the upcoming adaptation, apart from that Bo Bragason (Pinocchio) plays Zelda and Benjamin Evan Ainsworth (Three girls) plays the role of Link.

Impa, the princess’s Sheikah bodyguard it seems to be in the movie toobut will they face Ganon or Ganondorf? Will there even be an actual Triforce in the film? The most important: Will Link speak? Hopefully we’ll get the answers to some of these questions before Nintendo changes the release date a third time.
