The actress took a close look at her creative process and how she spends the days, minutes and hours leading up to production, frantically researching and studying the script.
Hathaway admitted that his very curious nature can sometimes be frustrating for filmmakers and producers.
She added that she usually stays one step ahead by explaining to administrators who have never had contact with her before that she is a real investigator. In his words:
“Like everything, even lines that I absolutely love, I just ask every question. I shine a light on everything. I poke holes in everything. And I think I know for a fact that it freaks some of them out.”
Hathaway continued on the A24 podcast on Tuesday that her attitude is usually the best because she wants to execute the producer and director’s vision to perfection by knowing every detail.

Two years ago, ABC News noted that Hathaway gave her flower to iconic director Christopher Nolan for keeping her career on track when he cast her in his hit 2014 film “Interstellar.”
She described Nolan as an angel that she needed at that time in her life because of the magnificent role he gave her, leaving an effect on her career by helping her maintain her momentum.
Hathaway said Nolan’s actions did what they were supposed to do and for that, he feels sincerely grateful.
The actress claimed that Nolan’s casting also happened at the right time, when directors were so concerned about the toxicity attached to his online image and didn’t want to give him roles.
Criticism of Hathaway peaked online just after she won an Oscar for her role in 2013’s “Les Miserables,” earning her several criticisms online.
As stated by The Blast, Hathaway sparked rumors that she had work done on her face after her appearance at the 2025 Met Gala ceremony in New York.
She was also named People magazine’s Most Beautiful Woman with her May cover appearance.
In the interview, Hathaway was asked to define what beauty meant to her, to which she gave an unconventional answer, repeating a candid statement she had heard from another Hollywood star.
“A filmmaker once told me this: beauty can contain ugliness as long as it contains truth. So for me, beauty is always in that sense,” said the actress.
Aside from her unusual definition of beauty, Hathaway also praised her personal trainer for her work through private classes including ballet, HIIT, Pilates and yoga.

The iconic actress further noted during an interview in the past that she struggled with the toxic fixation on her weight after her breakout role as Catwoman in “The Dark Knight Rises.”
Starring alongside Christian Bale in the 2012 Nolan blockbuster, she says the public conversation centered more on her weight than the strength her highly demanding role required.
According to the actress, the director made it clear before filming that his priority was not to lose weight, but to ensure she was physically capable of performing the film’s difficult stunts.
Hathaway remembers going through extensive training to master the stunts, including a wicked backflip through a window.
The actress, however, praised her husband Adam Shulman for constantly supporting her and keeping things steady at home while she was killing it on the sets.
