According to the media’s sources, parent company Sony plans to make a “significant number of layoffs” as it winds down its development. Destiny 2. The report states that Bungie has no new projects planned for the team and there are no immediate plans to begin work on a third game in the shooter MMO series. Sources say Bloomberg that staff sought to introduce new projects, potentially including new Fate games, but nothing has been given the green light yet.
Bloomberg does not indicate the precise number of layoffs, nor whether any of the Destiny 2 the team could be reassigned to help support MarathonBungie’s extraction shooter released earlier this year.
