4 green flags of divine friendships

One of the best examples of green flag-filled friendship in the Bible is that of David and Jonathan. David and Jonathan loved each other selflessly and purely, as shown 1 Samuel 18:1“the soul of Jonathan was linked to the soul of David, and Jonathan loved him as his own soul.” Their friendship went beyond enjoying each other’s company; he was rooted in the Lord and in the desire to see his will accomplished. This meant that Jonathan supported David, even when Jonathan own his father, Saul, was against him. These two men remind us that divine friendship is something to be prayed for and pursued.

Godly friendships will produce a harvest of great fruits and a garden of green flags. They often result from finding the person God desires to walk alongside you in this season and are friendships that only He can take credit for creating. Ask the Lord to reveal to you what He wants for you, especially in matters of friendship, and to highlight the green flags to be aware of and highly value.
