The June edition: what our editors are obsessed with this summer

Something changed by the time we got to the beach house. Slower mornings, dinners outside, salty air blowing through every window: those first few weeks were like a deep exhale and exactly what I craved.

It just seems that our June issue of The EDIT is a matter of dreams, because summer, wherever it is, seems made for them. We put so much love into this one. This month’s Editor’s Picks are an extension of that same energy: the things we crave as summer approaches. Warm-weather clothing, beauty finds that work with the sun instead of against it, and a few home pieces that make everyday life feel like exactly where you want to be.

Fashion

The shorts I live in

These have replaced every other pair of shorts in my rotation. The size is absolutely correct – high waisted without being stiff – and the Ecru Toasted is the warm neutral I keep reaching for all summer. I take them first, every time. — Camille Styles, editor-in-chief

Paige

Dani Court

$189 at Paige

My top secret with straps

The bra I wear under every summer tank top. The racerback completely disappears under strappy tops, it’s comfortable enough to forget about and the cut gives the most natural, simple shape, which is exactly the goal in summer. — Camille Styles, editor-in-chief

The coziest closet staple

Since I wore my olive pair several times a week, I finally added the espresso. The most comfortable pants I own – and the ones I get the most compliments on. — Camille Styles, editor-in-chief

Nudes

$88 at Nuuds

The Simplest Summer Stack

I just redid my summer earring stack and I’m officially obsessed. I wanted pieces that I could throw on with a white tee, swimsuit, or evening dress without ever having to think twice about it — and these from Made by Mary are exactly that. THE Hoops to live are light enough to really be worn every day, and the Pearl Bezel Studs add the prettiest soft glow without feeling too precious. Simple, effortless, and somehow every outfit feels a little tighter in a “I didn’t try too hard” way. — Anna Decker, Social Media and E-Commerce Manager

The most versatile bag of summer

The bag I wear it daily. The leather trim makes it more intentional than a typical straw bag, but it still has the same summer energy: farmers’ market in the morning, dinner at night. — Camille Styles, editor-in-chief

Essential from day to night

The polo shirt I’ve worn it for everything from casual lunches to restaurant dinners this summer. The cashmere blend is light enough for warm evenings, the vintage fit is exactly what a polo shirt should be, and it’s one of those pieces that looks more thoughtful than it needs to be thrown on. — Camille Styles, editor-in-chief

My Wunsical Girl Summer Wardrobe

If you keep a close eye on my monthly picks, you know that Rumored has pretty much taken over my wardrobe at this point – and I have no regrets. A few months ago, I highlighted the Portofino long dress (which I immediately lent to a friend who wore it to a wedding – compliments reported, obviously). This month I am adding the Olive grove short dress to the collection. The babydoll cut, the collar, the bow tie – it looks like something my grandmother would have sewn by hand, and I mean that as the highest compliment possible. Catch me frolicking in a meadow. I have plans.

Also in strong rotation this month: two pieces from the Capsule Alex Crane x Caroline Z Hurley—a limited edition collection presented by a husband and wife duo—chic!. THE Penny Brief in Pink is my new throw-on-and-forget-it dress (except I’m constantly thinking about how cute I am, so… ). I’m petite, so it hits me a little longer, but the side slits save the day. And the June Button-Down in Pink? I wear it unbuttoned over the briefs as an alternative to a jacket in warm weather. Monochrome dressing is truly the easiest way to look chic – and I am absolutely chic. — Isabelle Eyman, editorial strategist

Matching Set Season

Dressing for summer has its own ease, and for me, nothing embodies that better a matching set. Linen, cotton, poplin, lace, I take them all. If sweats are my winter uniform, a lightweight ensemble is the warm weather version. It gives the same simple feeling, but somehow it makes me look instantly pulled together. I feel a little more polished, a little more confident, and a lot more ready for the day ahead. They’re also endlessly versatile: paired with ballet flats and sunglasses for dinner dates, layered over a swimsuit with flip-flops for a day at the beach, or worn on travel days and slower office mornings. They’ve become the pieces I return to again and again because they’re suitable for almost any type of summer day. Consider this a case for creating a small rotation of must-have sets — going forward, you’ll appreciate the ease every morning. — Bridget Chambers, fashion editor

The coolest color combination of summer

These are officially my 2026 summer shoes. I tend to avoid classic white sneakers this time of year (life with two little boys!), but the Better Scarlet color is SO good. I constantly wear them with denim shorts or Free People’s Red Clay chino pants for a monochrome look. They’re lightweight, comfortable, easy to throw on while running errands or on the playground, and just have that cool retro vibe without being too trendy. — Eddie Horstman, Wellness editor

Big Bag Girl Energy essentials

Two things are always true about me: I am always on a walk and I must always be able to speak freely with my hands in expressive gestures. THE Terra small amethyst shoulder bag is my savior. Water-resistant, hands-free, and cute enough that I wore it running errands or on a hike, or on a hike between runs. High standards, fully respected.

And then there is the Luka mini sports bag in tomato. Tomato Girl Summer may have been a passing trend for some, but for me, it’s a way of life. My conclusion from the color analysis I have yet to do is that I look great in red, and this pop of color is exactly what every outfit needs. It fits my huge water bottle and the three books I keep rotating with room to spare – roomy, fluffy in the chicest way possible, and luxurious enough that I never want to apologize for carrying it around at any time. In fact, this is usually how I greet my friends: “Hey, nice to see you, look how gorgeous my bag is.” » — Isabelle Eyman, editorial strategist

Improved salad evenings

Handcrafted wooden salad bowls are back in stock at Casa Zuma in almost all sizes. It’s one of the most frequently used items in my kitchen, and especially during farmers’ market season, it’s on our table every night, filled with seasonal vegetables and produce. — Camille Styles, editor-in-chief

Cookware worth coming back for

Arrange our Malibu kitchen with pots and pans I keep coming back to it. I’ve been using Caraway for years and wouldn’t start again with anything else – black might still be my favorite color. My Softest Bathroom Must-Have

The softest towels I’ve owned these before – ordered them for Malibu bathrooms and it’s the upgrade I didn’t know I was missing. The oak color is the warm neutral I wanted: not stark white, still looks good and actually photographs the way you hope. — Camille Styles, editor-in-chief

I was a ZIP loyalist for years – one of the few technical skiers I believe ncare tools actually do something – and they just sent me their new Halo 2.0 to try. The upgrade is real. When I use it regularly, the lift and brightness are visible enough to actually be noticeable. I try to do it 7 minutes at a time, 4 times a week. — Camille Styles, editor-in-chief

My beach Read the essentials

It’s officially beach reading season, which also means overstuffed beach bags, books with wet pages, and the balancing act of trying to hold an open paperback while exposing it to the sun. As a lifelong devotee of the physical book, I resisted the Kindle for years. Then I got one for Christmas two years ago and… as much as I hate to admit it… I completely changed my mind. It fits effortlessly into a handbag or beach tote, making it easy to take along for errands, travel days, or afternoons by the water. I found myself reaching for a book while waiting at the doctor’s office or sitting at the airport gate instead of instinctively scrolling through social media. I read more simply because there’s less friction: when I finish one book, the next one instantly awaits me. And for anyone wondering: reading in the sun is surprisingly smooth. No annoying glare, no juggling pages in the wind. If summer reading is on your agenda, consider this a sign to give a Kindle a chance. — Bridget Chambers, fashion editor

My Kai era (a legacy)

You know how obsessed we all are with our mothers when we were little girls, and again in our 30s? (If you identify as Laughyou understand.) I’ve always wanted to do everything my mother did, and that includes drowning myself in kai. Seriously, our mutual obsession is a recurring topic in every phone call we’ve had.

I loved the signature scent because it was appropriate for me to wear perfume (in my book it was when I was 7 – I always smelled good), but I recently introduced the kai rose eau de parfum in my rotation. It’s delicate but stays with you all day, buildable and smells like you’ve just stepped out of a well-kept French garden. Every time I spray it, it’s like a little positive affirmation: you are beauty, incarnate.

THE body glow is non-negotiable if you have the main character’s energy, which I do. This is not disco ball territory (although call me extra, I still consider myself young). It’s just enough brilliance to make people around you whisper: “Oh my God, this girl? Radiant.”

And because I love kai so much, I need everyone who has ever entered my home to love the scents too. THE Skylight candle gives you 40 hours of burning in the signature scent, made with a blend of soy, palm and coconut wax and an organic cotton wick. Consider this a standing order for the hostess gift you should always buy me. — Isabelle Eyman, editorial strategist

My Summer Supplement Stack

I’m wary of a detox, but at the same time I’m seduced by the promise of a cure (it’s human, folks!). I’m just a young millennial who’d like to shine: on the inside (re: regular BMs, don’t they look cool?) and on the outside (skin that would make Anne Hathaway nod in approval). I’m in the second month of HUM Daily Cleaning– two capsules per day, because I am more of a rule follower and I believe that plus a little healthy fantasy is the key to life. If I was still in school, I would come back after Labor Day and the kids would say: whoa, this girl, she was beaming.

A few things I decided to do in my early 30s: invest like a boss who knows what she’s doing (re: stop ghosting my financial advisor), NEVER respond to a presumptuous “are you up?” ”, and finally FINALLY find the multivitamin that really does it all. First Day “No Junk” Women’s Multi I did it. I eat the rainbow and yet nutritional deficiencies are plentiful, but B6, B12, and magnesium give me energy in a way that makes me strangely feel like I’m living my life together.

If there’s anything consistent about me, it’s that I often wake up in a mental fog (where am I? WHO am I? – questions both existential and practical). Enter Brain Support: a peach gum with Cognizin™phosphatidylserine and time-release caffeine that make the “nootropic” sound fun. Now I work with the best of them. Are you calling me a genius? No, just a girl who has her intellectual ducks in a row.

And finally: I’m a cat lady with no kids, so you’d think I have no excuse for not clocking in 9-10 hours a night (I usually do – geriatric bedtimes, up to 5pm for my Calico’s beautiful paw, Millie, demanding breakfast). But despite the hours, I woke up drowsy, drowsy, dragging myself towards the coffee grinder in the fog. It’s until Nightly reset. Soothing magnesium, melatonin-free, strawberry flavor. I wake up now as a person. It’s revolutionary. — Isabelle Eyman, editorial strategist

The favorite shortcut for tired skin

THE Summer Fridays Jet Lag Mask is one of those products that I end up reaching for in more ways than one. At night, I like to pat a little under my eyes after my regular moisturizer for an extra boost of hydration, and I swear I always wake up feeling it on my skin. It has a rich, cushiony texture that instantly comforts tired, dry skin, but it’s also versatile enough to use as an overnight mask or even a refreshing hand cream when my skin needs a little extra TLC. — Tatom Hoffmann, marketing intern
