Germany and Curacao will face off in the opening match of Group E of the 2026 FIFA World Cup on June 14, 2026 at Houston Stadium on FOX. This Group E match marks a historic milestone as Curaçao participates in the World Cup for the first time. In doing so, it becomes the smallest nation, in terms of population, to ever qualify. Curaçao qualified for the 2026 World Cup by finishing first in Group C in the second round of CONCACAF qualifying, then finishing first in Group B again in the third round. In both phases, they remained unbeaten in 10 matches, recording seven wins and three draws. After losing 4-1 to Scotland in a friendly on May 30, Curaçao responded in a big way and will enter the tournament after a 4-0 victory over Aruba. Germany, meanwhile, enters the tournament as a traditional power, making their 19th consecutive World Cup appearance. After group stage exits in 2018 and 2022, the team is aiming for deeper progression with a refreshed squad that has come through UEFA qualifying. Germany secured their place by winning Group A, clinching top spot with a dominant 6-0 win over Slovakia to avoid the playoffs. Germany enters the World Cup on the back of nine consecutive victories in international matches, including a 2-1 victory over the United States last week. This is the first meeting between these two national teams, in all competitions. Let’s check out the odds for the Germany vs. Curacao match on FanDuel Sportsbook starting June 14.
