The fans are waiting Spider-Man: A Whole New Day Now I have something to track besides the movie’s release date. On Tuesday morning, Samsung teased SpideyTracker.com, a new interactive fansite that it said “brings to life a key element” of the upcoming MCU film, specifically a website that exists in the film.
In the Brand New Day trailers, Peter Parker’s best friend Ned Leeds built a site to help the citizens of New York locate Spider-Man in real time. Samsung – of which Galaxy Z Flip, Galaxy Z Fold And Galaxy Watch devices appear prominently in trailers – now turns this fictional site into something fans can actually use.
The collaboration, according to the company, aims to bring the film’s “spirit of ingenuity and connection to life through a fan-driven experience that takes place online and in real-world spaces throughout the summer.”

Samsung phones feature prominently in Sony’s new film. Wait, doesn’t Sony make phones? Oh dear.
SamsungComing back to marketing talk, the concept is simple. As Spidey is spotted at live events, in creator videos, and around the world, fans will be able to follow him. The site features a nice pixel-art style map and appears to send notifications to keep Spidey watchers up to date on the film’s debut. We’ll learn more about how exactly the site works in a video coming out on Tuesday.
This isn’t the first time a Spider-Man property has played with the idea of a superhero app. In Sony PlayStation gamesSpider-Men Peter Parker and Miles Morales Join the superhero gig economy by using the Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man app – created by Miles’ friend Ganke Lee – which allows New Yorkers to report crimes across the city to webslingers. The MCU’s Ned Leeds is loosely based on this same character, proving that regardless of continuity, Spidey’s “guy in the chair” is the master of a different kind of web.
