The New York Knicks’ NBA Finals celebration is underway… but a glaring mistake has people buzzing more than the champions on the Broadway floats.
City Hall is draped in banners honoring members of the 2026 roster…and the bench player Dillon Jones“The tribute includes his name with the number 33.
One problem: Jones never wore these numbers for the Knicks, as they were retired in honor of Patrick Ewing in 2003. His number in New York is actually 1.
Jones wore it last preseason with the Washington Wizards…and some online lists still listed it with Ewing’s number 33.
It’s fair to assume that whoever designed the banners was crossed off an unofficial list…and many in attendance were left scratching their heads.
Jones appeared in a handful of games for the Knicks… while Ewing is considered the greatest player in franchise history.
Ultimately, New Yorkers won’t care too much…they’ll be busy soaking up all the vibes of the parade and rally.
