The 5-day Royal Ascot festival begins on Tuesday with live coverage in Ireland on Virgin Media and Sky Sports Racing.
There are a number of small changes from this year’s meeting, starting with the fact that the Windsor Castle Stakes is now a six-furlong contest with restrictions on sires.
The Norfolk Stakes and Chesham Stakes swapped positions, with the former now being the first race on Saturday in order to maximize that race’s television exposure in the United States.
On Thursday, the Gold Cup and Britannia Stakes will run a little earlier to avoid a clash with the FIFA World Cup, while the upper handicap limit for the Copper Horse has been reduced from 105 to 100, to support the Listed Grand Cup at York Racecourse.
