Germany braces for record temperatures as heatwave moves east

​France, Britain, Switzerland and Germany all saw record temperatures in June, and the weather system could test more records as it crosses Germany towards Poland. On Friday, a new German record of 41.3°C was reached near the town of Saarbrücken, near the French border, while dozens of people, young and old, died in France.
