Rob Reiner ‘The Bear’ Series Finale Pays Tribute to Late Director

“The Bear” pays tribute to the deceased actor and director Rob Reiner in the series finale by referencing one of its most beloved and iconic films.
Rob appeared as restaurant consultant Albert Schnurr in three episodes of the hit Hulu series…and as the final episode drew to a close, line cook Ebra, played by Edwin Lee Gibsoncalled him about the restaurant’s franchise expansion.
Ebra and Albert reach an agreement for expansion, and when Ebra listens to Albert’s final request – which the audience does not hear – Ebra responds: “As you wish.”
Any fan of Reiner’s work would immediately understand the reference: “As you wish” is a famous line from the 1987 film “The Princess Bride,” which he directed.
The phrase is famously uttered by Cary Elwes” character, Westley. Cary was one of many Hollywood actors to pay homage to Rob after him and his wife, Michelewere found murdered in their home in Brentwood, California, in December 2025.
As you know, their youngest son Notch was arrested and charged with first degree murder…to which he pleaded not guilty.
The Los Angeles County district attorney is pursuing a “special circumstances” conviction for murder, which would make Nick eligible for the death penalty or life in prison without the possibility of parole.
We told you the latest news: Nick is currently fighting for a $1.7 million trust payment he was supposed to get 2 years ago… but a the judge will have the last word about what happens with money.
