According to images obtained by the Daily Mail, the iconic arena underwent a massive transformation for the event. What typically hosts basketball games, concerts and other major events has been transformed into an enchanted garden featuring towering trees, lush greenery, emerald draperies and tall archways.

Guests could be seen gathering around the altar before making their way through a series of hidden doors leading to the reception area. The room buzzed with enthusiasm as Candi Staton’s disco anthem “Young Hearts Run Free” played throughout the room while the elegantly dressed guests made their way through the space after the ceremony.

The decor drew heavily on a garden party aesthetic, with arrangements of oversized greenery and trees helping to create the whimsical atmosphere Swift would have envisioned for her wedding day. Emerald-colored draperies hung from the ceiling, while Madison Square Garden’s traditional blue seats were covered in neutral-toned upholstery to blend seamlessly into the overall design.

An imposing, ceiling-high structure, adorned with gray ornament and archways, stood in the center of the hall, resembling either a chapel or the castle-like structure that had sparked speculation in the days leading up to the wedding.

One of the most unique elements of the wedding seems to have been the transition from the ceremony to the reception. According to a guest who spoke to the Daily Mail, attendees “headed to the festivities room behind the magical altar doors” after the ceremony. The reception space would have continued the fairy tale inspired theme.

The same guest described the venue as having a “whimsical Tinkerbell fairy tale” aesthetic, with elaborate flower arrangements and greenery helping to create a magical atmosphere.

Additional images also revealed a romantically lit hallway with pink walls, peach draperies and matching carpet. The hallway seemed connected to the glamorous staircase that several guests had already shared on social media after the event.

Beyond the grand decorations, the wedding also featured several deeply personal touches. Leaked images revealed walls lined with photographs documenting Swift and Kelce’s relationship.

The exhibit would have included images throughout their romance, including the couple’s backyard proposal in August 2025. The photographs were displayed in oversized gold frames throughout the venue, creating a visual timeline of their relationship for guests to enjoy.

A large “T and T” logo was also prominently displayed as part of the wedding decor, further tying together the custom design elements of the event.

Outside the venue, Madison Square Garden was lit in pink for the celebration, while giant screens displayed “JUST&T MARRIED!” for arriving guests.

This extravagant celebration came with an equally eye-catching prize. Industry experts estimate that Swift and Kelce spent more than $15 million transforming Madison Square Garden into the wedding venue of their dreams.

Meanwhile, a source told The New York Times that expenses related to lighting, sound, catering, flowers, decorations and labor may have totaled between $10 million and $12 million.

Security was also a big undertaking. In the days leading up to the wedding, numerous NYPD officers and security personnel were stationed around Madison Square Garden, and reports suggest the security operation cost taxpayers approximately $1 million.

Several distinguished guests also shared their reactions to the spectacular transformation of the venue. AMC CEO Adam Aron was among those who attended the wedding and later praised the elaborate setup in a since-deleted social media post.

“Immediately upon entry, everything… floors, walls, ceilings… were draped in peach and white. Large enlarged photos of Taylor and Travis at every age, year after year, from age 1 to late teens, were on display,” he wrote.

He also pointed out that the venue was “devoid of any idea that a basketball or hockey game [had] never shared space.

Meanwhile, “Good Morning America” host George Stephanopoulos also reflected on the wedding decor during an appearance after the event. “It really was this garden within the Garden,” Stephanopoulos said Saturday. “It was so beautiful.”
