For me, being near a body of water is the essence of summer. Since we are at beach houseI sleep more soundly than I have in years, I take long walks before the day begins, and I keep meals so simple they barely count as cooking: fresh melon eaten over the sink, fish tacos on the grill, everything fresh and easy. There’s still some construction noise in the background, but even with that we feel settled and grounded.
July does something to your priorities, if you let it. The list gets shorter. The days are getting longer. You stop optimizing and actually start living the life you’ve been dreaming of all year.
This month’s picks are a reflection of it all: what I wear (a handful of pieces, over and over again), the routines that have truly earned their place, and a few finds that are slowly making this home ours.

Fashion
The basics that do the most
My current formula: Paige Anessa wide-leg jeans with the simplest top I own. These two Sezane basics are in constant rotation: the Malcolm T-shirt fits just enough to feel intentional, and the white Max shirt works as a layer or alone. Neither is trying very hard, and that’s exactly the point. — Camille Styles, editor-in-chief
Current handbag obsession
Speaking of things I didn’t plan to love as much: I joined Vivrelle last month and it’s been one of the most genuinely fun things I’ve done in a while. This is a membership where you borrow designer bags, jewelry and watches, with no long-term commitment. The YSL I’m currently wearing seriously wondering if I should just buy it at members price and keep it forever. (Send help.) Redeem code CAMILLESTYLES for 50% off your first two months. — Camille Styles, editor-in-chief

My daily jewelry rotation
Over-accessorization is fully present, and Electric picks is our favorite place to lean. THE Coco Necklace And Parker Hoops are the kind of easy, everyday pieces that make even the simplest outfit look completely put together, throw them on and you’ll look like you tried way more than you did. — Camille Styles, editor-in-chief

Bra for the long term
I just started training for the NYC marathon and this Form sports bra has already become non-negotiable. From long runs to Pilates, whatever the workout, this is truly the most supportive bra I’ve found for it all, and that’s not something I say lightly. Holy Grail status has been officially achieved.

Summer swimming formula
It’s officially swimsuit season, and although I recently collected all my favorite swimwear brandsthere is a silhouette that I keep coming back to: that of Anemos Midi high-cut bikini bottoms. Trust me, I know raving about the fit of bikini bottoms is shocking, but they’re really the only bottoms I want to wear. They’re the perfect mid-rise, so I don’t worry about the rise bothering my tan lines, and the medium coverage is exactly that – not too much, not too little. They hide everything I want to hide and hit just the right spot to flatter my waistline. They are so good. Pair it with any of their tops, but I find myself drawn to The Joan. — Bridget Chambers, fashion editor

Crochet ready for vacation
Allow me to introduce my summer shoe, the ODISSI Iris Flat. A cross between a ballet flat and a sandal, these crochet flats are really the only shoe I’ve been gravitating toward lately. The open weave allows them to be super breathable, without exposing my never-perfect pedicure. Every time I wore them I got stopped on the street and sold out my mom, sister, and so many friends for buying a pair. Bonus points for laying completely flat in a suitcase, so they go everywhere with me this summer. — Bridget Chambers, fashion editor

Approved airport attire
I’m officially obsessed with poplin for summer. Are you telling me I can wear pajamas all day and get away with it? Sold. It’s light, fun and airy: poplin is the new linen. I like these pants with a simple tank, these underwear with a white button down, and these blue striped pants with a white t-shirt (also my official summer airport outfit). — Brittany Chatburn, Director of Content Marketing

Daily arch support
So, have I recently become more interested in foot care? (Thanks to my doctor who told me that if I don’t buy better shoes, I’ll be bow-legged by 70.) It’s hard to find everyday sandals that fit your arches without becoming an old lady, but I’m seriously obsessed with my Archie’s brown flip flops. I convinced everyone around me to buy a pair. They’re so comfortable, only $40, and they’re my summer staple to throw on and go with everything, poplin included. — Brittany Chatburn, Director of Content Marketing

Swimming that really supports
Every year, without fail, I find myself with the horrible task of trying to find a swimsuit that is comfortable, fun, and supportive. After ordering and trying several different brands, I am completely obsessed with the pieces left on Friday. The fabric is thicker and supportive, while remaining incredibly flattering and comfortable. I particularly like the top shelf and Double spoon tops for extra support. Plus, their color selections are SO fun and perfect for summer outings by the pool and on the lake. — Suruchi Avasthi, food editor + photographer

The rug that brings people together
We used Ernesta for every large rug in the beach house – and this brand is my absolute new rug obsession. The quality is gorgeous and I love that each one is made to your specific specifications so you can really find the right size for each piece. Here’s what we landed on:
Media room: Xander Plush Wool Rug
Master bedroom: Cormac in oatmeal
Phoebe’s room: Sugar in Ivory
Henri’s room: Linen Maycomb
Large room: Calico with milk

The spa towel at home
I filled every bathroom in our new Malibu beach house with the Ultra Plush Turkish Bath Towels in ‘oak’. These are the softest I have ever owned and they hang from the hooks and truly look like a spa. Boll & Branche has become my everlasting source for everything bath and bedding, the quality is always the best. — Camille Styles, editor-in-chief

This is not your basic yogurt
I found one of my new favorite treats, and it comes in the cutest little clay pot. This whole milk yogurt is sweet, creamy and so delicious. As someone who can consume a few pots of basic 0% fat Greek yogurt every week (hello, protein goals), tasting the difference for a sweet and creamy whole milk yogurt is actually wild, and an afternoon bowl of La Fermière with fruit and granola has become my favorite afternoon treat for something healthy AND delicious. My current favorite flavors are vanilla bean and orange blossom honey, but they are all SO good. —Edie Horstman, Wellness Editor

The best art of coming home
I’ve been living in London since April and I’m heading home in a few weeks now! I’m really looking forward to crawling into my own bed, especially snuggling under bamboo sheets. These sheets from Cozy Earth are so luxurious and soft that I have two sets of them. Would literally cross an ocean for them! — Kristen G.slowly, Design Editor

Spa evening at home
My current bedtime ritual: rubbing with this scrub with a magnificent scenttake a hot bath, then wash it Undaria Algae Body Oil from head to toe while my skin is still warm. I spray my linen sheets with Vagus Nerve Pillow Mist before going to bed and really feeling like I’m I went to a spa without leaving the house – and the sleep I’ve had since I started is on another level. — Camille Styles, editor-in-chief
Heatless hair routine
My summer air drying routine is finally in place:
- After the shower, I wrap myself this hair towel-it absorbs moisture without the breakage caused by regular towels (which matters more than you think).
- Then I work on Leave-in conditioner on damp hair, follow with Air Dry Smoothing Cream from roots to ends, twist freely in the style of Dianna Cohen (her tutorial worth looking at), and clip it into place with these to adjust the wave. Wake up to real beach hair.
- On the second or third day, this dry shampoo at the roots, it saves me an extra day between washes. — Camille Styles, editor-in-chief

Morning Coffee Upgrade
One month after the start of Pique Carrara Marine Collagen Peptides and it has earned a permanent place in my morning coffee. Two scoops, dissolves completely and the organic vanilla and coconut flavor it adds is so good. It boosts skin radiance, joints, elasticity and connective tissue, and my nails are already much stronger. This approach to beauty and longevity is what I look for and which I rarely find in a single product. Use my link for 15% off for life-try it and report back. — Camille Styles, editor-in-chief
The two-step glow
My skincare philosophy this summer is: fewer steps, better results. Right now, I’m obsessed with two products that do the heavy lifting. Starting with the Radiance Serumwhich gives me that lit-from-within look that I use under my makeup or even alone, and the Cleansing Balmwhich melts sunscreen and makeup like a dream at the end of a long day. — Camille Styles, editor-in-chief

A few sprays and your hair has that soft, eye-catching finish that looks effortlessly healthy – just what I want when humidity is doing its best to ruin everything. It immediately earns its place on the bathroom shelf. — Anna Decker, Social Media and E-Commerce Manager

My crunch-free curl routine
This summer, my beauty philosophy is simple: do more so you can do less. Think high maintenance that makes everyday beauty effortless. While I could easily share a long list of products that work, any great summer look starts with beachy, healthy hair. I have naturally wavy hair, but many styling products tend to weigh it down and leave it flat. This is why I searched for the ROZ Hair Milk And Styling oil. This duo is really all I need for soft, hydrated waves that still look natural. As soon as I get out of the shower, I apply Hair Milk to my hair as a detangler before blow-drying. Next, I warm a few drops of styling oil between my hands and rub them into my waves. Once my hair is dry, I’ll add a little more oil to the ends for added shine and frizz control. The result is an effortless, beach-ready texture without any crunch or heaviness. Pro tip: Styling oil also acts as a heat protectant, so it’s ideal even if you’re going to blow dry. — Bridget Chambers, fashion editor
Simple Ingredient Protein Powder
This is my favorite protein powder. This plant-based protein powder is made from chocho beans and as someone who has tried a lot of protein powders and is very sensitive to the strange flavors and tastes of a lot of powders, this is the best out there. The ingredient list is super simple and I love using it in my smoothies, mixed into yogurt bowls, or added to different baked goods for an extra serving of protein! — Suruchi Avasthi, food editor + photographer
