Why is France opposed to air conditioning?

As Europe continues to battle record temperatures brought on by heatwaves across the continent, many have turned to air conditioners for some much-needed respite. In France, however, the question of whether or not this technology should be used has been a hotly contested debate for decades. Tanishk Saha from FRANCE 24 explains.
