Beyond the Gates Spoilers: Doug’s Debt and Karaoke Night

So on Monday, April 21st, it’s Season 01, Episode 39. Doug McBride, of course, is deep in debt to thuggish Joey. And now that he has broken his own wrist when he got so upset, he is unable to operate. That means he’s not going to be raking in those big bucks from all those back-to-back surgeries he was doing. And it looks like things may get dangerous soon for him. Also, it’s karaoke night for the Dupree’s on Monday. I can’t wait to hear them singing.

Ted and Nicole’s Anniversary and Eva’s Rage

Ted Richardson’s (Maurice Johnson) and Nicole Dupree Richardson’s (Daphnee Duplaix) anniversary event is rapidly approaching. And Eva is busy planning it as the week kicks off. And also this week, Leslie Thomas (Trisha Mann-Grant) is taken aback when her daughter Eva rages at her, calls her mom a liar right up in her face. So that should be pretty interesting.

Bill’s Health Crisis, Anita’s Offer, and Chelsea’s Business Plans

Tuesday, April 22nd, is season 1 episode 40. Bill is dealing with some pressure at the law firm. And this may come back to him pushing Mike out the door, the lawsuit against them from the paralegals that Mike harassed. So, and then Bill, of course, had that medical thing where he had the little numb thing going on in front of his daughter, and she’s worried about him. So this is just going to be a lot on him. Plus, you know, pregnancy scare from the young new wife. Also on Tuesday, Anita Dupree (Tamara Tunie) gets an offer that she did not expect. And she considers what to do.

I wonder if this has something to do with karaoke night. Wonder if one of the kids with a camera on their phone has posted a video of Grandma Anita. Chelsea Hamilton’s (RhonniRose Mantilla) plans are very well laid out for her business and her purse line, but Dani Dupree (Karla Mosley) makes a decision that messes with them. And if you remember, Kat Richardson (Colby Muhammad) said this past week that it’d be a good idea if they brought in Chelsea’s mom to help them, but her daughter does not want Danny around. And she’s pushing back hard.

Risky Deals, Modeling Agencies, and Wagyu Beef: Danny’s Chaotic Week

On Wednesday, April 23rd, it’s season 1 episode 41. Doug has a chance to make a pile of cash, but it’s very risky. And still, he decides to double down on it. And of course, it sounds like this is probably some trick of Joey’s to get him in over his head because the casino owner has a terrible ulterior motive on Beyond the Gates.

Danny decides that she’s going to choose her own way. And I wonder if she is going to take Pam up on her offer to start a modeling agency. And in other Danny news this week, she’s back in the bedroom with Andre Richardson (Sean Freeman). She’s using his camera to snap some sexy photos of him, but he tells Danny he feels like a piece of meat. And she takes it as a joke and tells Andre that he is Wagyu beef, which if you’ve not had is delicious, but it’s very expensive.

Beyond the Gates: Beefy Bits

The most expensive type of Japanese Wagyu can run $400 or higher per pound. So a lot of times that’s why you only see it in small bits in like appetizers because it’s delicious but expensive. They massage the cows. Anyway, prime beef for sure. And Danny says that Andre is beef that’s good enough to eat.

But I wonder if he might have been being a little serious because she basically just constantly booty calls him and he comes over and either is doing sex with her or he’s picking her up drunk off the floor. This thing with Danny is not a healthy relationship choice for Andre. But then again neither is his fixation on Ashley Morgan (Jen Jacob) who is very much involved with somebody else.

Anniversary Getaways, Hospital Creeps, and Revenge Plans

Also on Wednesday, Ted is pushing to take Nicole away. He wants to whisker away on an exotic destination vacation for their anniversary instead of having a big public party and he may be scared that Leslie’s going to do something because she did show up at the last public event when Nicole got that award. What I thought was interesting that of course when Leslie got thrown out of the country club that it was Eva that did it and not Ted or Nicole.

So this week at some point I don’t know the date Leslie is going to creep back up to the hospital pretending to be the suicidal woman from the roof that Nicole saved. And Leslie tells Nicole she needs to talk to her. She says there’s something that she needs to know. And of course Leslie has been planning to spill the affair and that she is Ted’s other baby mama at their big anniversary event. So we’ll have to see if maybe Leslie got a whiff that Ted may be changing his mind about the party and so Leslie may be pivoting on her revenge plan. And all of this may be why Eva is raging at her this week.

Risky Deals, Medical Mysteries, and Vanessa’s Disappointment

Thursday, April 24th, is season 1 episode 42 of Beyond the Gates and Doug is struggling with his addiction and his gambling demons are getting the better of him. That same day Vanessa McBride (Lauren Buglioli) makes a risky deal with Joey. And I think I’m going to be just as disappointed as Vanessa because she was kind of getting a crush on Joey. Like he’s a bad guy you know. He’s a thug. Um he’s got that silver fox thing going. I do like John Lindstrom I’m a big fan of his from over at General Hospital.

And of course the head writer is the one who helped develop him as a very bad guy character over there when she came up with the Ryan Chamberlain serial killer character. So she really knows how to write for John Lindstrom. And poor Vanessa thought that he wanted her for her body and she was kind of flattered and into it and he no he wants her for her real estate business to launder money I think that might be a pretty big ego hit for Vanessa when she finds out that Joey didn’t want to use her in the way that she thought that she wanted to be used.

Plus on Thursday Laura’s medical case isn’t making a lot of sense. So Nicole takes a look at it. And we know that Leslie injected something into her IV because she wants Eva to be able to stay on as Nicole’s assistant but and I understand that psychiatrists are doctors but I wonder if they’re going to explain why they have a shrink looking at this case.

Health Concerns, Homeless Encounters, and Gambling Addictions

On Friday, April 25th, we have season 1 episode 43 and Bill’s health concerns are causing some problems at work and the other partners may turn on him. And again he had that whole thing I think where it was like some pain and then fingers going numb or something. So,  of course his daughter was freaking out about it.

And speaking of her Naomi Hamilton Hawthorne (Arielle Prepetit) defends a homeless woman who is angry and confrontational while her husband Jacob Hawthorne (Jibre Hordges) is there and watching very closely. Doug finally admits that his gambling addiction is out of control. Is this the point where Vanessa is going to find out that while she’s got a secret life sexing up whoever she feels like it her husband Doug has got a secret life throwing all their money away.

Fear and Sweeps Week

And finally this week we’re also going to see Vernon Dupree (Clifton Davis) very concerned as he talks to Anita because he comments that she seems scared and she tells Vernon it’s more than that. She’s downright frightened. So there’s lots to unpack there when we get into these episodes next week. You can bear in mind Sweeps kicks off on Thursday. So for the next few weeks look for even more sizzling drama. They will be kicking it up a notch to grab those ratings in the very important Neilson period.
