Bold and the Beautiful: Lisa Yamada Lands New Role – Luna Out at B&B?

Bold and the Beautiful sees something big just happened for Lisa Yamada. She landed a juicy role on a new TV series. So, does this mean lunatic Luna Nozawa is out at B&B? Can Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) and Finn (Tanner Novlan) finally relax? It’s Belynda from Soap Dirt and we’re going to talk about Lisa’s new project and why it looks like her time on B&B as Luna could come to an end.

Lisa Yamada Lands Major Role in ‘Legally Blonde’ Prequel ‘Elle’ on Amazon Prime

It was recently revealed that Lisa Yamada landed a key role on a new Amazon Prime video TV series. It’s called Elle And it is a prequel to the hit 2001 movie Legally Blonde that most of us have seen and most of us like. I like it.

This series takes place several years before the events that occurred in the movie. It follows Elle Woods through high school in LA before she went off to college and then of course got her shot at Harvard Law School. So Lisa Yamada won a series recurring role as Amber, one of Elle’s friends at her Bel Air High School in LA.

This is of course wonderful news for the actress and many fans of her work as Luna on Bold and the Beautiful may tune in to watch her on Elle. The series is taping now and will debut on Amazon Prime next Summer 2026. It’s being produced by Reese Witherspoon, the Legally Blonde goddess herself.

What Lisa Yamada’s New Series ‘Elle’ Means for Luna Nozawa on Bold and the Beautiful

This is a huge opportunity for Lisa and in case you didn’t know it, she has done a lot of other amazing work before landing the part of double homicidal maniac Luna Nozawa. I think Lisa is destined for big things above and beyond soaps, which has me wondering if Bold is going to write her out or at the very least back burner her character on B&B at least for a while to facilitate her filming this and you know other projects that may be coming.

Bold and the Beautiful’s Track Record: Quietly Writing Out Characters

Generally, the CBS soap writes actors out and does not bother to let us know. Case in point, Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson) and RJ Forrester (Joshua Hoffman) most recently taken off the credits, taken out of the opening sequence, and not one peep from the showrunner. And when they wrote out Taylor Hayes (Krista Allen), they even denied letting her go. But the truth came out when Krista confirmed they had fired her a year before her contract was set to end.

So, this is likely going to be a wait and see thing with Lisa since Bold doesn’t bother to let fans know casting info as a rule. Even worse, they’ve had actors deliberately mislead fans. Like when they had Kimberlin Brown and Tanner Novlan do exit interviews when Sheila Carter (Kimberlin Brown) and Finn (Tanner Novlan) supposedly died. Fans figured out those were bogus exits long before B&B tried to shock us with the reveal their characters were very much alive and those exit interviews meant nothing. So now we have Lisa Yamada’s fate as Luna Nozawa up in the air.

Signs Pointing to Luna Nozawa’s Possible Exit from B&B

So, real quick, let’s talk about a few red flags that Lisa may be back burnered or her role pushed to minimal recurring as she pursues new opportunities. First of all, Finn does not seem interested in being a dad to Luna. Not at all. Finn is really sticking to his guns about Luna not having a place in his life.

And of course, Steffy’s adamant there’s absolutely no way she will let Luna anywhere near her family, especially when she’s facing the traumatic ordeal of Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton)’s death sentence. Steffy Forrester is cherishing her family more than ever and she knows firsthand how dangerous Luna is because she locked Steffy in a cage and you know was planning to have her squashed by a wrecking ball. So yeah, I don’t see Luna getting anywhere with Steffy or Finn.

Bold and the Beautiful: No Romance Ahead for Luna?

Second red flag, there is very little hope that Luna is going to land a romantic leading man. She wants Will Spencer (Crew Morrow) but he’s all about Electra Forrester (Laneya Grace) now and for the foreseeable future. Will wants nothing to do with Luna even though he’s not getting any loving from Electra yet and Luna’s been throwing herself at Will, like literally in her underpants, you know.

And he still turned her down. Told her to stay away from him and Electra. And unless they bring back Remy Pryce (Christian Weissmann) to hook up with Luna , who in LA in their right mind is going to date her, which is a huge problem for future storylines on a soap opera, which is about love and romance and drama.

Bold and the Beautiful: Luna’s Missing Connections?

With that third red flag, the only character that Luna regularly interacts with is Sheila Carter (Kimberlin Brown), who does adore her granddaughter, Luna. We’ve seen how thrilled Sheila is to have a granddaughter in her life.

And Luna is the only family that Sheila has, aside from her husband, Deacon Sharpe (Sean Kanan), who will let her into their lives. And vice versa, you know, Sheila is the only family that lets Luna come around. But don’t forget, Sheila’s usually not on screen, not as much as she has been recently on. She’s kind of back on the back burner most of the time recurring.

And fourth red flag, and this is huge. What future is there ahead for Luna in LA? I mean, how do you move forward? How do you evolve the character of a double murderer?

Yes, it’s true. Sheila’s a killer who has managed to stay around, but that was nothing short of a miracle. And Deacon is a devious yet understanding guy. There’s not a lot of those around. And again, Sheila is mostly on the back burner these days. She’s not a front burner leading lady for the most part.

The Future of Luna Nozawa: Potential Exit Storylines on Bold and the Beautiful

So Finn turning his back on Luna once and for all may set the stage for her exit. Maybe she’ll head out of town. All the people who hate her are rich. So maybe someone will give Luna a big fat chunk of change to leave LA. Maybe Dollar Bill Spencer (Don Diamont) or even Sheila who’s got money stashed away. You know, Grandma could give Luna some money to get a fresh start elsewhere.

Or maybe Brad Bell will do to Luna what he did to Thomas, RJ, Thorne Forrester (Winsor Harmon), and Bridget Forrester (Ashley Jonas) and Rick and Maya Avant (Karla Mosley) and Remy Pryce (Christian Weissmann) and Flo Fulton (Katrina Bowden) and Pamela Douglas (Alley Mills) and so many others and just pretend they don’t exist. Just slip them right onto that back burner and then knock them off the back of the stove. Only give them occasional mentions about stuff that’s happening off screen. Just let them fade away.

I will say Bold and the Beautiful really scored when they hired Lisa Yamada. She is incredibly talented and she was fire as Luna at her craziest and deadliest. But it’s obvious that Lisa is out there auditioning and that’s not for nothing.

If she was full-time on contract at B&B, it’s hard to imagine that they’d tell her it’s okay. Go audition and sure you can accept a role on another series. We don’t want to see her go, but it looks like the writing may be on the wall and Luna’s exit is only a matter of time, but we’ll see how it goes.
