Bold and the Beautiful Twist: 3 Deaths Ahead?

Bold and the Beautiful sees two front burner storylines and we are wondering if B&B may pull a shocking twist and kill off three characters. We know Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton)’s dying of a brain tumor and Luna Nozawa (Lisa Yamada)’s running around with a gun, begging to be put down and into a body bag. And then we’re going to talk about the third possible death in just a minute. We’re going to discuss three characters that might meet their maker in coming days on the CBS soap.

Bold and the Beautiful: Understanding Airtime Constraints and Cast Dynamics

The first thing to remember as we get into this conversation about Liam, Luna, and the other character is on a 30 minute episode of Bold and the Beautiful, there’s only about 17 minutes of actual storyline content in a day. The rest is commercials compared with like 40 to 42 minutes on a 1-hour show. So, it’s just not a lot of time.

Bold and the Beautiful: Character Clown Car?

Plus, B&B has added more characters to the cast over the past few months, over the past even 6 to 12 months. We had Daphne Rose (Murielle Hilaire) for a couple of months and she could be back. Will Spencer (Crew Morrow), Electra Forrester (Laneya Grace), they brought back Taylor Hayes (Rebecca Budig).

Now they’re adding Nick Marone back into the mix. Sheila Carter (Kimberlin Brown)’s getting more airtime. And they can’t even use all the characters they have. There’s just not enough bandwidth on a 30 minute soap. We rarely see Eric Forrester (John McCook) or Zende Forrester Dominguez (Delon de Metz). Donna Logan (Jennifer Gareis) is almost never seen.

Katie Logan (Heather Tom)’s here and there in and out, but not on much. And where the heck’s Bill Spencer (Don Diamont)? Mostly not around. He’s not had a front burner plot in forever. So, the point is for a halfhour soap opera, it’s a pretty bloated cast.

Liam Spencer’s Fate: Cancer Battle and Potential Exit

With that in mind, let’s get right to it. The first character to discuss dying is Liam. He is currently suffering from an inoperable brain tumor that is cancerous and that we’ve been told will end his life. Dr. Grace Buckingham (Cassandra Creech) told Liam there’s a chance if he gets chemo and radiation that could prolong things. There was some talk with Finn (Tanner Novlan) and Grace about side effects of the treatment and they made a big deal out of Liam deciding whether he would do the treatment.

But unless I fell asleep on an episode, they never stated clearly that he was pursuing treatment, but then Finn mentioned, I think this week or late last week, that Liam was up at the hospital recently seeing the doctors. So he could absolutely get an 11th hour miracle like B&B did for John McCook and Eric Forrester and he survives this cancer crisis. But it would be a big old twist if they actually did kill off Liam. I mean really Scott Clifton’s role has been stagnant for so long, a couple of years now, if not more.

Bold and the Beautiful: No Love Interest for Liam

You know, Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) met her soulmate Finn. They seem to be in their happily ever after. Hope Logan (Annika Noelle) is engaged to Carter Walton (Lawrence Saint-Victor) and before that she was hot to trot for Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson) and had cheated on Liam and didn’t want him. So with Hope and Steffy seemingly settled, there’s no love interest around for Liam.

I was hoping he might get with Ivy Forrester (Ashleigh Brewer) and they’ve punted her back to Australia apparently. So realistically, Bold and the Beautiful may actually kill off Liam. Also, Scott Clifton might want to leave and move on to other things.

He is very talented, but there’s just not a lot for him on Bold once this Liam’s cancer tumor storyline resolves one way or another. I will say, of course, Scott Clifton’s current storyline, the tumor, is dramatic. It’s intense. It could get him a fourth daytime Emmy, but it could also be Liam’s swan song. But even if Scott Clifton’s leaving, I think Liam would be the last of these three possible deaths when you look at it in chronological order.

Luna’s Downward Spiral: Revenge Plot and Potential Demise

So the second possible death on Bold could be Luna She’s completely unhinged. She’s determined to kill Steffy. Last we saw Luna she was begging Steffy and Finn to let her into their lives for him to be her dad. They refused Luna’s request and Finn shut her down hard. So, after Luna left the cliff house, she was furious and more determined than ever to get Steffy out of the way. Basically, Luna went over there to give Finn and Steffy one last chance to do what she wanted, and they didn’t.

So, Luna bought a gun from this sketchy dude, and she is fully planning to kill Steffy. So, with Luna’s revenge plan in motion, even Sheila’s scared of what she might do. And really, it doesn’t look like Luna has any shot at redemption. Sheila tried to help her find a new path and even encourage Luna to leave town. She said no. And Lisa Yamada has that new role on the Amazon Prime series Elle. So, she needs time off to do that.

Bold and the Beautiful: Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton) - Luna Nozawa (Lisa Yamada)

Bold and the Beautiful: No Place for Luna?

But even if it doesn’t take that much time off, I mean, what can Brad Bell and his writers do with Luna from here? Nobody wants her around. Only Deacon Sharpe (Sean Kanan) is willing to love a lunatic, and he’s already got one. You know, Luna is unhinged. She’s unapologetic at this point and terribly unpopular.

It feels like to me Bold and the Beautiful is setting the stage to kill Luna off. She could be taken out while trying to murder Steffy. You know, Luna could die if Steffy gets the gun, shoots her in self-defense. Finn or Sheila or Electra Forrester or Will could kill Luna trying to save Steffy or if she goes after Electra.

You know, heck, Li Finnegan (Naomi Matsuda) or Poppy Nozawa (Romy Park) could take down Luna to stop her from murdering Finn’s wife. It could be Bill. It’s open season on who might kill her. Honestly, I just am not going to be surprised if they kill off Luna. I don’t see it as a big deal other than of course Lisa Yamada plays one heck of a villain, but they’ve made it so Luna can’t be redeemed or have any relationships. There’s just no wiggle room. So, yeah, she might die.

Steffy’s Survival: Maternity Leave and Plot Twists

So, it’s the third possible death though that I’m particularly interested in discussing. Now, to be very clear, this is not a spoiler. Not at all. However, I just want to say it’s possible because of some things going on in her storyline.

And I’m talking about whether Steffy survives this attack from Luna. And yes, it would be an absolute stunner if Bold killed off Steffy. But given that lunatic Luna is plotting to put Steffy down once and for all, we have to at least consider this could really happen. So, there’s two reasons that they might actually let Luna kill Steffy.

The first is because her portrayer, Jacqueline MacInnes Wood, is due any day now with kid number five. Once she gives birth, she will have five boys under the age of six. That’s a lot of kids for a working mom. That’s a lot of kids for a mom who’s not working.

Plus, the money she earns playing Steffy doesn’t matter to their household budget. Her husband Elon Ruspolei is a talent agent at CAA, one of the biggest and most powerful agencies in the industry, and he’s moved into producing now as well.

Bold and the Beautiful: Retire or Recast Steffy?

So, they’re living large. Money is not an object. And to be clear, I’m not saying that Jacqui can’t make it work with five kids while she carries on doing her Steffy thing on Bold. Certainly, she can do it since Jacqui proved it already since she is doing it with four boys, you know.

So, what’s one more, right? However, if she wanted to walk away from the role of Steffy and Jacqui’s at a point where she just wants to focus on family, she could have told Brad Bell she wanted out. So, that’s one.

Bold and the Beautiful: Fake Murder?

Now, the second option for Steffy is this. And this could be like that thing they did with Finn a few years ago. We could see Luna kill Steffy, murder her in cold blood, and either Luna lives or dies, goes to jail, whatever, as she kills off Steffy. And that covers for Jacqui Wood’s maternity leave which is coming up very soon. She’s due like any day now. And then, you know, in a couple of months, two, three months, we find out like they did with Finn that she was alive the whole time.

You know, Bill got her to a clinic or Taylor you know, just redo that plot like they did where Li had Finn that whole time and they had the actor off doing exit interviews when they knew they weren’t killing him off. Just redonkulous. So, we’ll see how it goes. But as it stands, there is the potential for not one, not two, but three deaths ahead on Bold and the Beautiful as we hit the climax of the Luna stalking Steffy story and the sad tale of Liam’s tumor.
