Days of our Lives: Can Bo Bring Philip Out of His Coma?

Days of Our Lives sees Bo Brady (Peter Reckell) back in Salem. And there may be another item on his to-do list. Will he stop by University Hospital to check on his comatose brother, Phillip Kiriakis (John-Paul Lavoisier)?
Days of our Lives: Bo Brady Returns for More Salem Drama
So obviously, we all know it’s been a very sad and busy week with the three-episode funeral for beloved John Black (Drake Hogestyn). One of the best moments this week, I thought, was Bo refusing to obey doctor’s orders and insisting that Hope Brady (Kristian Alfonso) take him home to attend John’s memorial service.
Bo Brady and Hope Reunited at John Black’s Funeral
While Bo is not supposed to be out and about now that he is out of bed and mobile, there could be more people he wants Hope to take him to see. There are many in Salem who, of course, will be thrilled to see Bo on his feet and out of that coma. He certainly dropped jaws at the funeral.
One of the people who would like to see Bo is in his own coma, obviously — his little brother Phillip. He remains in the hospital, still not conscious after their other brother, Xander Cook (Paul Telfer), nearly beat Phillip to death for a variety of sins. Let’s be real.
Phillip Kiriakis in a Coma: Xander Cook’s Brutal Attack
One of the reasons Xander kicked Phillip nearly to death was for stealing the Versix. Xander didn’t know that Phillip intended to just steal one dose to help save Bo. In the end, John Black’s heroics ensured the life-saving medicine made its way to Bo.
Hope, Ciara Brady (Victoria Konefal), and Shawn Brady (Brandon Beemer) were there as Bo beat the sepsis and woke from his two-year-long coma. But if he heads over to the hospital to see Phillip, maybe Bo’s presence will bring his comatose brother back.
Will Bo Brady’s Miracle Spark Hope for Phillip Kiriakis?
We just saw Bo stun Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) when he showed up to say thank you and goodbye to John. Hope was insistent that Bo follow doctor’s orders. Because, of course, she is still scared something could happen and she could lose Bo. But he knows he owes a huge debt of gratitude to John for his sacrifice and also to Marlena for what Bo’s miracle cure has cost her. After shocking Marlena by showing up, we all heard Bo’s emotional speech.
Emotional Moments: Marlena Evans, John Black, and Bo’s Return
I was honestly in tears over Brady Black‘s (Eric Martsolf) whole eyebrow tribute. Even though I was laughing, I was also crying. That spot-on imitation he did of his dad, John Black. And all his moods was so well written and so well delivered. Then, to have Bo there talking about how John sacrificed his life to save his dear friend, that had me finishing off half a box of Kleenex. If I’m being honest.
DOOL Family Bonds: Bo, Hope, and Catching Up in Salem
Even though Bo is supposed to be in the hospital while he recovers, obviously he’s now roaming the streets of Salem, determined to show his debt of gratitude to John and Marlena and catch up with loved ones. But what else could Bo do before Hope takes him back to the recovery center? Well, Bo might take a side trip after John’s wake at the Brady Pub.
He may go check in on his brother Phillip. Wouldn’t it be amazing if he did? The sound of Bo’s voice might bring his badly injured brother back from the brink of death. Days fans, of course, are beyond excited to see Bo and Hope back in their hometown of Salem. We knew the hospital staff wasn’t going to be able to keep Bo from going to say goodbye to his close friend and honorary brother John.
Salem’s Recent Losses: Victor Kiriakis, Doug Williams & John Black
I think Bo knew eventually he was going to be able to convince Hope to take him to John’s memorial service. Before leaving the hospital, even before that, Shawn and Ciara left. Bo had already learned about three deaths that happened over the past two years. Of course, one of them very recently.
Bo was completely shocked to find out his biological father, Victor Kiriakis (John Aniston), was gone. Then, he found out his father-in-law, Doug Williams (Bill Hayes), Hope’s beloved father, had passed away. And last but by no means least, died from injuries in the lab explosion sustained while saving the Versix, which, in turn, saved Bo’s life.
Xander, Kate Roberts, and the Fight for Phillip’s Life
What Bo doesn’t yet know is that his brother Phillip is fighting for his life after being beaten to a bloody pulp by their other brother, Xander. However, Bo was told that Xander is officially his brother. The last Bo heard, “Dandy Zandy” was Victor’s henchman and a much-abused occasional gardener.
Soon, Bo may learn about the situation, perhaps while the family is gathered at the Brady Pub for John’s wake. It might be Kate Roberts (Lauren Koslow) who tells Bo about it. There are spoilers that have Kate back up at Phillip’s bedside later this week, begging her son to wake up. Most people obviously don’t know that Bo was on Phillip’s mind before Xander beat him.
Secrets and Spoilers: Phillip Kiriakis’ Ordeal & Hospital Drama
If you remember, Phillip called up his former high school buddy Kevin Lambert (Chadwick Hopson) and asked him to steal the Versix from the lab. Phillip hoped to help Xander win the bid to buy the hospital. Phillip also wanted to prove himself to Xander by getting the drug to save Bo Brady’s life in the process.
Instead, it turned into a whole ordeal with that meth lab and the explosion. Xander thought the worst of Phillip and brutally beat him. We will see if Kate or Roman Brady (Josh Taylor) or someone else fills in Bo at the wake on what has happened to Phillip and how his life is on the line right now as well.
DOOL Spoilers: Will Phillip Forgive Xander Cook?
Recently, if you remember, was absolutely outraged on Days of Our Lives to find out that Xander is out on bail. Our leaker told us that when Phillip finally wakes from his coma, he is going to refuse to press charges on Xander. Spoilers also hint that Phillip wakes up soon.
Now that the events surrounding John Black’s sad death and funeral have taken place this week, Phillip’s storyline is going to move back onto the front burner. It could be next week that Phillip wakes up.
Can Bo Help Phillip Wake Up?
With Bo himself just waking from a coma and getting a medical miracle, maybe he wants to pay it forward. He’ll go pray for a miracle for his brother Phillip at his bedside.
As to why Bo could be there, maybe Bo’s sister, Doctor Kayla Brady (Mary Beth Evans) insists that Bo come over and get checked out at University Hospital since he left the facility against doctor’s orders. Since he’s there, maybe Bo stops in to see Phillip.
If you remember, Bo hasn’t seen Phillip in many years. But at one point, they had developed a decent relationship. Of course, Shawn and Phillip grew up together. They had their share of drama. But ultimately family is everything.
Bo Brady’s New Lease on Life & His Kiriakis Family Ties
With Bo’s new lease on life, he may want to get closer to his Kiriakis family — at least as much as he can — before he leaves town, which is supposed to be coming soon. They are supposed to be back later this year for more storylines, so we’ll see on that. One good way for Bo to get closer to the Kiriakis’ is to stop in and see Phillip.
He could talk to him and encourage him to wake up. Bo might try to help Phillip get his own miracle. Phillip was focused on getting the drug for Bo Brady. If Phillip, from the cloud of the coma, hears his big brother Bo’s voice, maybe Kate will get the miracle she’s been hoping for. We’ll see. It could be a week of more than one miracle.
