Days of our Lives: Philip Kiriakis Schemes Big – Is He a Hero or a Zero?

Days of Our Lives sees Philip Kiriakis (John-Paul Lavoisier) meets up with his old high school classmate, Kevin Lambert (Chadwick Hopson), to talk about stealing the sepsis drug, Versix, from University Hospital. So, what does Philip have in mind for the miracle serum? Will he sell it to the highest bidder to make a quick buck or will Philip take the vials to help save his big brother Bo Brady (Peter Reckell)? Let’s talk about Philip’s plans for the Versix. Is he about to prove to the Kiriakis family that he truly is a zero or will he get to play hero? Let’s dive in.

Kevin Lambert’s Return to Salem: Days of Our Lives Blast from the Past

You may recall Salem High’s science nerd Kevin Lambert from Peacock’s, Last Blast reunion a few years back. The character has been played by a couple of different people, but he’s still the same geeky guy wanting to fit in with the cool kids from Days. Jan and Kevin cooked up a prank to torment ghoul girl Chloe Lane (Nadia Bjorlin), and she was humiliated. And now Kevin’s back to scheme with Philip.

Philip Kiriakis Faces Family and Business Drama

So, you know, Vivian Alamain (Louise Sorel) ratted out Philip for the Victor Kiriakis (John Aniston) letter that she forged. And now his brother Xander Kiriakis (Paul Telfer) is desperate to find a way to get rid of him at Titan Industries. And of course, Philip is scrambling to keep his job. Alex Kiriakis (Robert Scott Wilson) hates him. Stephanie Johnson (Abigail Klein)’s furious. Belle Black (Martha Madison) wants to roast him alive. It is not a good time to be Philip.

Bo Brady’s Deadly Sepsis and the Desperate Plan for Versix

Meanwhile, as far as we know, he has no idea that his big brother Bo is fighting a deadly sepsis infection while in a coma in a hospital over in Europe. Recently, Caleb Brady, Steve Johnson (Stephen Nichols), and Shawn Brady (Brandon Beemer) plotted to steal the Versix drug from Dr. Russell’s lab. The experimental drug could be Bo’s only shot at survival. There’s no time to waste.

So, we thought for sure things would be smooth sailing for Kayla Brady (Mary Beth Evans)’s plan. She even packed off Dr. Russell to a conference out of town and gave his staff the weekend off just to smooth the way so Steve and Shawn could break in, take the drug, nobody around. But this week, it all falls apart because Steve and Shawn get to the lab and like old Mother Hubbard, there’s nothing in that drug cupboard. The medicine they need to save Bo is GONE, gone.

Days of our Lives: The Versix is Gone! Philip and Kevin’s Daring Heist

Later this week, Kayla’s crew of low-key criminals gets together to discuss what happened to the Versix. We know it’s missing. We know they don’t because Philip convinced Kevin to steal the experimental medication. And they didn’t just take one vial like Kayla told her guys to do. No, Philip had Kevin clean it out. There’s none left.

Why Philip Stole Versix: Exposing Xander’s Hospital Scheme on DOOL

You know, Dr. Russell is going to be furious when he finds out he’s probably going to accuse Kayla. And this all started because Philip knows he’s on borrowed time with Xander and he started asking questions about why his brother’s trying to buy the hospital, which is a money pit. When Alex refused to give Philip any info, well, he slid into Xander office to rifle his files and he found that binder. And then he made a call to somebody that Xander’s been talking to and lied and got caught up on exactly why his brother’s doing this.

So, Philip figures out Xander knows there’s big money to be made on Versix and that’s why Xandy wants to buy the hospital. And as a matter of fact, Sarah Horton (Linsey Godfrey) grills Xander this week and we’ll see if he’s honest with her that Russell’s research is really why he is open to buying a failing hospital.

Days of our Lives: Will Philip’s Greed Cost Bo Brady His Life?

So, it looks like Philip being a petty Betty goes behind Xander’s back to screw his brother over yet again. But unknowingly, it seems like Philip is also screwing over another brother, Bo in the process. And if you’re wondering what does Philip plan to do with the medicine? Well, that’s a good question.

Optimistically, you’d hope that Philip knows that Bo’s taking a turn for the worse, and this drug is the only thing that can save him, and that’s what he wants to do with it. You know, Philip and Bo haven’t always seen eye to eye. However, Philip wouldn’t want Bo to die. You know, the guy’s been in a coma for two years and now it’s taken a turn. Everything seems hopeless. And if Philip decides to sell the meds, you know, on the black market or to some disreputable lab, that could mean certain death for Bo. And the promo for this week promise that Philip’s greed could cost his brother his life.

Panic Sets In: What Will Philip Do With the Stolen Versix on Days of our Lives?

However, there’s still time for Kevin and Philip to do the right thing. Spoilers for the end of this week say Kevin and Philip panic after they do the crime. They may be worried they’re going to do some time. By then, Bo’s impending death may be on Philip’s radar. Maybe, maybe not. He’ll have the drug needed to save Bo’s life, but Philip may find out too late that that’s the medicine Bo needs.

Plus, we know even once he knows, he can’t just say, “Oh, whoops, my bad,” and return the drug to Kayla or to the lab without implicating himself and Kevin in the theft. So, you know, Philip may decide to try and give it to his nephew Shawn, hoping he won’t rat him out for stealing the meds from the Days of our Lives lab.

Or Philip could drop a vial of the drug into the mail, send it anonymously to Steve or Shawn, or Kayla. Either way, it’s going to be one wild ride on Days this week. Philip convinces Kevin to help steal the Versix. But will Philip wind up being seen as somebody who saved Bo, a real hero, or somebody who’s willing to let his brother die, a real zero?
