Paula Sapion Miranda dazzled Deidre Olsen — who also lived in Germany — with colorful flowers and a line from a poem by Pablo Neruda.

Paula Sapion Miranda and Deidre Lillian Olsen were both skeptical about finding love, but that started to change on a blustery April afternoon in 2021 after their meeting for a picnic during the Covid lockdown in Berlin.

She is currently pursuing a master's degree in North American Studies at Freie Universität Berlin , from which Mrs. Sapion Miranda received a doctorate in veterinary medicine.

Ms. Sapion Miranda, who was born in Germany and raised in Toluca, Mexico, is pursuing a doctorate. in Veterinary Science with a focus on Reptile Parasitology at Justus Liebig University in Giessen, Germany. She is also a veterinary research assistant mainly in parasitology at Exomed, a laboratory specializing in exotic animals, in Marburg, Germany.

"I was depressed at the time ", Olsen said, adding that she felt she was "never going to find love. I wanted intimacy, connection. ”

Her date put her at ease. "We really talked about everything," said Ms Sapion Miranda, who waved goodbye to Ms Olsen in her arms before boarding the U-Bahn to return home.
