Punk Rock Analog VHS Horror - Trailer for 'V/H/S/99'

V/H/S/99 Trailer

Get ready to celebrate the new millennium with terrifying new images! Our friends at Bloody-Disgusting have released the first trailer for V/H/S/99, the latest horror anthology in this outstanding series. The original V/H/S debuted in 2012, with the first sequel V/H/S/2 soon after in 2013, then V/ H/S/94 in 2021. The latter premiered at the 2022 Toronto Film Festival in Midnight Madness, followed by a premiere at Fantastic Fest in Austin, TX. Witness a hellish vision of 1999, as social isolation, analog technology and disturbing home videos merge into a nightmare of found footage savagery. "Before selfies, before cell phones" there were monsters, spiders, murderers, scary cults and crazier bullshit. It looks crazy!! I always appreciate how hard they try to outdo themselves every time with each new V/H/S anthology. This one has five new segments to enjoy: "Ozzy's Dungeon" (must involve Ozzy Osbourne?!), "Shredding", "The Gawkers", "Suicide Bid", "To Hell and Back". It's a short teaser but it's scary as hell - I don't even know if I'll be able to watch it. And you??

Here is the first trailer (+ poster) for the horror anthology film V/H/S/99, straight from YouTube:

From TIFF: "Since 2012, the horror anthology series V/H/S has conveyed its fair share of visceral 'found footage' thrills from filmmakers. frightening emerging and established through four memorable episodes. The latest continues the tradition with a few twists and a new generation of filmmakers, each setting a record on a series of supernatural incidents that occurred at the end of the last millennium. Breaking with its structure traditional wraparound, this edition's cursed recordings are instead layered onto a single videotape, with the first recording running beneath the others, sometimes breaking into bursts of static and analog tracking errors. Innovations keep coming in when it comes to style and tone, like Blumhouse Productions alum and musician Maggie Levin—the filmmaker-turned-Flying Lotus gets dynamic and refreshing with her vanitas that eschew perspective pure camcorder [here] for recorded TV shows of quintessential 90s programming gone horribly wrong."
