Man, daughter killed in road accident in Tiruvannamalai
A 53-year-old potter and his daughter were killed in a road accident at Palli Mottur village near Cheyyar town in Tiruvannamalai on Thursday.
The police identified the deceased as S. Karthikeyan, 53, a potter, and his daughter K. Yuvarani, 20. Initial inquiry revealed that Karthikeyan was living with his wife Ananthi, 47, and two daughters Yuvarani, 20, and Indumathi, 18, in Irumanthangal village near Cheyyar town.
The police said that along with his daughter Yuvarani, Karthikeyan was returning home in his two-wheeler when he lost control of the vehicle and hit another two-wheeler rider P. Gokul, 19, a resident of Cheyyar, on Kancheepuram–Cheyyar Main Road.
In the impact, all three of them were thrown off from the vehicles. Immediately, passersby and other motorists admitted them at Government Taluk Hospital in Cheyyar town where doctors said that Karthikeyan and his daughter died. Gokul is being treated. A case was registered and further probe is under way.
