In an attack on the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, over the anti-CEC protests, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said on Friday (October 30, 2026) that it “seems as if Rahul Gandhi is not from this country but is coming from Pakistan and doing politics”, as he accused the Opposition of spreading anarchy in the country.

Mr. Yadav made the remarks at an event in Indore as part of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)’s ongoing ‘Loktantra Bachao, Arajakta Hatao’ campaign.

“Rahul Gandhi raises questions at Institutions like the Election Commission the Election Commission and the Supreme Court that protect democracy through constitutional rights, as well as our military. It seems as if Rahul Gandhi is not from this country but comes from Pakistan to do politics,” Mr. Yadav said, addressing a gathering. A video clip of the remarks has gone viral on social media.

“The Congress leaders, who disrespect the democracy, should drown,” he said, claiming that the world is appreciating India’s growing strength under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

“But how can someone unable to see notice this,” the BJP leader said.

At a government event in Ujjain, Mr. Yadav accused the Congress and Mr. Gandhi of trying to spread anarchy.

“Rahul Gandhi and his people are spreading anarchy by challenging our democratic framework on the lines of Bangladesh and Nepal. He is insulting the respected institutions by demonstrating in Delhi with 2-5,000 people,” he said.

Mr. Yadav said that the Congress should work hard and go to the public for five years after losing an election.

“If the public chooses you, you come back and run the government. But you are like that you won’t run someone else the government. Is this your home rule?” Mr. Yadav said, adding that the BJP had been struggling since the time of the Jan Sangh and that former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee was in the Opposition for about 50 years.
