Cybersecurity awareness session held at Govt. Cyberpark

Cybersecurity awareness session held at Govt. The session focussed on how cyberattacks occur in real-world situations, even as deepfake scams are assuming menacing proportions.

Wattlecorp Cybersecurity Labs, in association with Government Cyberpark, Kozhikode, organised a cybersecurity awareness session for employees of companies based at the park as part of Cybersecurity Awareness Month.

The session focussed on how cyberattacks occur in real-world situations, even as deepfake scams are assuming menacing proportions.

Wattlecorp’s security experts conducted live demonstrations to explain how attackers gain access to an organisation’s systems and obtain sensitive information. The demonstrations highlighted how even minor lapses in everyday security practices can expose organisations to cyber threats.

A key segment of the session dealt with deepfake scams involving video and voice impersonation. Participants were shown how fraudsters use such techniques to impersonate senior executives and deceive employees into transferring money or disclosing confidential information. The session also covered practical measures to identify and prevent such fraud.

The initiative aimed to strengthen cybersecurity awareness among companies at Government Cyberpark. It also highlighted the need for all employees, and not just IT teams, to understand cyber threats and follow safe digital practices.
