Ex-deputy speaker urges police to probe alleged defamation campaign on social media

Former YSRCP Deputy Speaker Kolagatla Veerabhadra Swamy addressing the media in Vizianagaram on Friday.

Former Deputy Speaker Kolagatla Veerabhadra Swamy on Friday asked the police department to investigate and file cases against the persons allegedly involved in running a ‘false’ campaign on social media platforms to defame him and his family members.

Addressing the media in Vizianagaram along with YSRCP observer Andhavarapu Suribabu and YSRCP Mayor candidate Kolagatla Sravani, he alleged that opposition parties were misusing social media platforms to circulate false false allegations of land grabbing, and rowdyism during his tenure as Vizianagaram MLA between 2019 and 2014.

“Whenever elections are held, political opponents start a false campaign against me. They have resorted to such practices again during the upcoming Vizianagaram local body elections. We request the people not to believe such allegations and vote for Ms. Sravani and our YSRCP corporator candidates in all the 62 divisions,” said Mr. Veerabhadra Swamy.
