108 students found consuming liquor at Chevella farmhouse, four test positive for ganja

Police found 108 students consuming liquor at a farmhouse in Kammeta village under Chevella police limits on Friday night, with four of them testing positive for ganja consumption.

Telangana excise rules require permission for serving liquor at private events, including parties held at farmhouses, with violations liable for action under the applicable excise laws.

The Chevella police and Special Operations Team (SOT) jointly raided the LG Farmhouse after receiving credible information. The students were from ICFAI and IBS Colleges, and included 71 boys and 37 girls, police said.

The students were found consuming liquor without the required permissions, according to police. Drug screening tests conducted during the raid showed that four persons tested positive for ganja consumption.

Police seized 15 grams of ganja, seven cars, three motorcycles and 70 mobile phones from the farmhouse.

Chevella Police Station Inspector Narendra Reddy said a case had been registered and a detailed investigation was under way. Further legal action would be taken in accordance with the law.
