Amansie Community Bank PLC is streamlining its operations to sustain gains after posting a strong financial performance in the year ended December 2025.
The bank recorded more than 100 per cent increase in profit before tax, posting over 73 million cedis as against profits made in the preceding year.
The bank also chalked up an unprecedented milestone as the first community bank in the Ashanti region to mobilize one billion cedis in deposits.
The Amansie Community Bank increased its deposit mobilization by 48 per cent over the 2024 figure of 687.82 million cedis to a record of one billion cedis in 2025. The new record positions the financial institution as the first community bank to achieve this impressive feat in the Ashanti region.
The deposits were made primarily into the Savings and Susu accounts of the bank, providing increased stability for utilization by the bank.
A net amount of 80 million cedis was granted as loans and advances in the year 2025, representing 77 per cent over the previous year.
The total assets also increased from 761.7 million cedis in 2024 to 1,156.7 billion cedis in 2025, representing 51.8 per cent. This gain was made possible through investments, cash and Bank Balances, and Loans and Advances.
In 2024, the bank posted 36 million cedis in profit before tax, but it is now seeing 100 per cent increase (73 million cedis), attributable to improved income generated from credit and investment operations.
The bank made a profit after tax of 50.98 million cedis as against the 2024 figure of 26.20 million cedis, representing an increase of 94.57 per cent.
The bank’s portfolio investments increased by 35.2 per cent in the period under review to close at 739.3 million cedis from 546.7 million cedis in 2024. The investment funds were allocated to treasury bills, fixed deposits, and other short-term fixtures on the money market.
A total dividend of 10.19 million cedis, representing 0.1459 cedis per dividend, has been recommended for payment to all shareholders with a total qualifying share of 69,877,568. The figure represents a 94 per cent increase in dividend per share over the 2024 dividend payout.
Speaking at the bank’s 41st annual general meeting, the Chief Executive Officer of the bank, Frederick Kwakye Kyei, noted that prudent fiscal measures and operational efficiencies are required to sustain the gains of the bank in the ensuing years.
“For the past three years, we’ve been very consistent after obtaining approval from the Bank of Ghana. All that is required is that we need to generate more revenue and get more profits. As we are increasing the number of shares, we are able to pay out more dividends,” he said.
The bank remains committed to serving the financial needs of its customers and enhancing other banking platforms, including digital means.
Board Chairman, Ben Kwakye-Adeefe, stressed that the management is focusing strategically on ways to generate funds from the micro-finance sector and providing credit facilities to medium, small and micro-scale businesses.
He further noted that management is considering laying before shareholders a proposal to support struggling community banks to meet their minimum capital requirement.
“We are also looking at how to mobilize funds from the micro-finance sector, especially where the Bank of Ghana is ensuring that the SMEs must be established and concentrated on and also help them access funding. We are also looking at how to help other community banks to be able to get the minimum capital requirement,” he said.
Following the resumption of the Amansie Bank Scholarship Scheme in 2025, the bank invested 47,500 cedis in the educational successes of ten (10) students, covering the full tuition of beneficiaries.
