The Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) has expelled former general secretary Kripa Alva from the party for six years over alleged involvement in a ‘sting operation’ targeting Congress leaders.
The October 27 order cited alleged anti-party activities and her failure to respond to a show-cause notice.
The police had issued Ms. Alva a notice following a complaint filed by former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, who alleged that unidentified individuals had circulated a fabricated video containing malicious allegations against him in an attempt to blackmail and defame him.
