The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Zenith Bank (Ghana) Limited, Henry C. Onwuzurigbo, has highlighted the importance of physical fitness and employee wellness, describing the bank’s annual health walk as a key initiative for promoting healthy living and strengthening relationships with customers and stakeholders.

He said maintaining a healthy workforce was essential to productivity and the bank’s ability to deliver quality services, adding that the health walk provided an opportunity for employees, customers and other stakeholders to prioritise their well-being.

Mr Onwuzurigbo made the remarks during the Zenith Health Walk and SME Fair organised as part of activities marking the bank’s 21st anniversary under the theme “21 Years of Excellence, A Future of Possibilities”.

He described the combination of the health walk and SME Fair as significant, explaining that while the walk promoted physical fitness and wellness, the fair provided a platform for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to showcase their products and services and connect with potential customers.

He expressed appreciation to the bank’s regulators, board chairman and directors, executive management, customers, business partners, service providers, media representatives and staff, both past and present, for participating in the anniversary celebration.

He also acknowledged the participation of the Ghana Wheelchair Basketball Federation and other organisations, associations and institutions, describing the turnout as a demonstration of the strong relationships the bank had built over the years.

Mr Onwuzurigbo thanked participants for joining what he described as the biggest health walk in Ghana’s banking industry and reserved special recognition for the SME exhibitors, entrepreneurs and business owners whose participation had enriched the accompanying fair.

Reflecting on the bank’s 21-year journey, he said the anniversary represented years of trust, resilience, innovation and service excellence, adding that its growth and financial strength had positioned it to support businesses, create opportunities, impact communities and contribute to national development.

Beyond the wellness initiative, he highlighted the bank’s continued investment in digital banking, including the introduction of the Zenith Virtual Card, which allows customers to make secure online payments and can be created instantly through Zenith Internet Banking and the *966# service.

He also mentioned the launch of Z-Money Agency Banking, which brings essential banking services closer to customers through authorised agents in their communities.

On SME development, he encouraged participants to visit exhibitors at the Annex and Zenith Heights premises and patronise their products and services. He said the bank remained committed to supporting businesses through financing, transaction banking, digital solutions and other business support initiatives.

The bank’s retail, agency banking and e-business teams were also available at the event to educate participants on its new products and services.

Looking ahead, Mr Onwuzurigbo said Zenith Bank would continue to build on its strong foundation, guided by its three strategic pillars of people, technology and service.

He reaffirmed the bank’s commitment to continuous innovation, improved customer experience, financial inclusion and sustainable growth, while strengthening support for SMEs and contributing to Ghana’s economic development.

He added that the bank remained ambitious about strengthening its market position and working towards becoming the number one bank in Ghana through service excellence, reliability and the value it creates for its stakeholders.
